Brother-sister/parent-child marriages, with legitimized children, have never been common anywhere in the world, as far as I know. Egyptian royal practices (and a few others) notwithstanding, I cannot think of a single confirmed case of what the Church condemned as incest (i.e., direct line) leading to legitimate children.

No doubt, given the horrendous prevalence of sexual abuse, some number of legitimate children among the European nobility were indeed fathered by their grandfathers or uncles, but not in any way the game would simulate.

Uncle-niece marriages were legit in Catholicism at the time (I think they're not allowed any more, though), and were pretty prevalent.

For comparison, that is 1/8 shared genetic material; compare 1/2 with a parent, 1/4 with a sibling, 1/16 with a first cousin (assuming you have a complete pedigree)

Someone needs to do a 'Special Friend' role that utilizes the guardian code. Re-create some of histories great 'friendships' ie Edward II & Piers Gaveston and all the associated envy, mischief and ultra-violence.

I had multiple marriages between cousins in my game and sometimes the children got "ugly" and "dwarf" but that's about it.
