Incest marriages for all religions

Dont you think incest marriages and seduction should be able for all religions, but just have harsh opinion penalty for it.

I think its just odd for Game to forbid it. If catholic marries with mother or so, it would have just harsh opinion penalty. And maybe some special event and plots opened for it. Muslim also.

they can be illegal, but in world there is free act and punishment. So rulers can choose, if they are risking to get punished or not. So who can say caliph you cant marry your mother or sister, he is all powerful. But people still can hate him for breaking "a rule". So i think ck2 should let be able to breake a law and then get punished. If count breakes a law then duke or king can also punish him, or just hate him and trying to revoke titles.

Marriage was the dominion of the church in those days, and no churchman is going to approve such a marriage unless they're already on board (Zoroastrian/Messalian/Kemetic,etc).

Emperor Heraclius marrying his niece got a huge backlash in Byzantium, and that was a legal relationship under Roman law.

Helios Panoptes is right. And in the case of your example with the caliph, it is specifically forbidden in the Quran for a man to have such a relationship with his mother or sister.

These sorts of marriages weren't just immoral or frowned upon, they were ILLEGAL ! No self respecting priest would officiate over such a union so it simply wouldn't happen. Even if you could find a willing, compliant or lunatic priest to do your bidding no one else in the kingdom, let alone the world would recognize that marriage. The children of said "marriage" would all be deemed illegitimate or worse, blasphemies to be eradicated at the earliest opportunity.

Maybe there should be some sort of option to take a family member as a concubine or lover (with the massive opinion penalties you noted), but fully recognized marriages ? No way, no how, not ever in a zillion years.

Nah the closest they got was nieces. The Spanish branch saw to that.

You can already get them as lovers, the normal seduction focus even works on siblings (not parents/children though).

You can already try to seduce your sister, Aunt or mother.

They'll almost certainly tell you to bog off. However, if they say yes you can take them as a lover, and this relationship can become known.

I think maybe having a lunatic ruler who get the event option to marry a lunatic family member into marriage at a considerable piety and prestige and opinion penalty can be a thing.

Not sure why a player would ever pick it other than for fun though.

The only historical example of a nuclear marriage (i.e. married a parent or a sibling) was John V of Armagnac who married and had three children with his sister Isabella. And that was illegal as heck. I know from personal experience that you can marry parents' siblings though.

Incorrect. The Hapsburgs married their cousins over generations. Never brother-sister. Though I think there were a couple occasions where they married their nieces.

The closest I've ever gotten to incest was playing as the King of Dal Riata. My character's wife died after bearing me a son so i remarried a beautiful young wife to take her place and keep me warm during those cold Scottish nights.

Shortly thereafter the old king died and I took over as his unmarried son and decided to marry my stepmom because, well, dad did say that he left my all of his possessions in his will . .

"Couple occasions". Technically there were just three according to this but the problem was all of it combined. (Aka poor Charles II, only legitimate child of his father (out of 20+ illegitimate bastards).
