Playing As the Inca Empire
Difficulty = Normal
Time 1 minute = 1 month
Economy and everything else on medium.

It's January 1, 1500. I was ordered to safe guard the Inca homeland while also expanding the empire. The Priest promised me all the help I can get as long as I can do my tasks. I started out with one province the Inca Capital of Cuzco I had one colonel under my command. His name is the Great Atahulpa (1-0-1-0). Under his command he had 10,000 brave Inca warriors. They were young and brave and ready to give there lives for the empire. My first order of business was to safeguard the Capital. To do this I expanded the fortress located to level two. I started out with 2500 ducats so it was an easy start. Around me were 4 known providences so I began to select a target. All 4 were native controlled and only one was very aggressive towards me with 4900 troops and 9 aggressiveness towards me. I lowered my navel research because for now I have to concentrate on other things then a navy.

- February 20, 1500. I took towards the native country of Arequipa as a place to expand my empire. Arequipa has a native strength of 7800 with an Aggressiveness of 1, which is the lowest possible. I try a peaceful colonization of the natives land.

-June 23, 1500. With Arequipa successfully colonized the Empire looks towards its other neighbors to expand peacefully of courts. We set our eyes on Titicaca (hehe what a great name for a country hehe) and Lima.

-July 1, 1500. Tragedy struck our colony on Arequipa . There was a native uprising and they slaughtered the colony and left it in rubble with not a single person alive. Peaceful colonization was unsuccessful. I was ordered to get vengeance for the slaughtered colonists. I order Atahulpa and the battle ready Inca warriors to attack.

-July 23,1500. Arequipa and her warriors were dispersed before atahulpa could arrive but I still wanted revenge for the fallen colonists so Atahulpa was not recalled. They had to be taught a lesson.

-July 28, 1500. Atahulpa arrived to teach the native scum a lesson. Atahulpa and his 10,000 Inca warriors arrived to battle with the 8,000 native warriors. The battle was turning horrible as our troops started to panic. We had around 7364 Inca warriors to the native 6421 army whose morale was also breaking.

-August 26, 1500. After hard fighting Atahulpa had won with 7,364 Inca warriors left. We also sent colonists to colonize the evil country of Arequipa by force this time.

-August 26, 1500 Success our colonization of Lima had succeeded while in Titicaca it failed a great disappoint meant. Hopefully the next colonist will be more successful. Our colony in Lima had no troops so I was afraid of uprising from the local tribes. I didn’t want to recruit any troops for now.

-September 14, 1500. Aggressiveness in Lima towards my people had increased. I decided to recruit another 10,000 Inca warriors to help protect our lands from the natives that would try to stop our expansion.

-October 14, 1500. Colonization in Arequipa had failed. I decided to send Atahulpa to protect the colony of Lima. The Sun God must be angered by us to give us sop many failures. Arequipa prisoners were ordered to Cuzco for mass sacrifice in the name of the Sun God.

-October 26, 1500. Success Titicaca had been colonized another colonist had been sent to Lima to help its growth. And another was getting ready to be sent to Titicaca. After my army was trained the colonist would be sent with them to ensure the protection of Titicaca. Mass sacrifice must have appeased the great all-powerful Sun God in our favor.

-December 7, 1500 A new army is built in Cuzco commanded by the war chief Atahulpa the 2nd (I had to name him the second so it wouldn’t get confusing because there were two Atahulpas controlling the armies now the natives don’t have many commanders). Atahulpa the 2nd had the same stats as his father Atahulpa. Atahulpa the second is the son of Atahulpa. Atahulpa the 2nd was sent to Titcaca as a defense force for the young colony. With him came a colonist to boost the population in Titcaca.

-January 10, 1501 our colony is still Level 1 the colonization attempt to boost the population had failed. Another settler was sent to Lima to try to boost the population again. Atahulpa the 2nd lost 100 Inca warriors on his march to Titicaca. When he arrived he took charge. WE cant be losing colonies it wouldent look good if we did. Especially to native scum like them.

-February 6, 1501 Titicaca had reached level 2 now. We hold special sacrifices and rejoiced that day. Hopefully Lima will be as successful. I also received a diplomat.

-March 10, 1501 Lima reached level 2 mass sacrifice and rejoicing was ordered in the capital. Our god must truly be with us. Another colonist has been sent to Titicaca.

-May 4, 1501 we received another colonist, which I was preparing to send to Titicaca. I had to wait for the last one to arrive before I could send this one. I wanted another city for the empire so I decided Titicaca would be the first city.

-May 10, 1501. Titcaca still level 2 the colonist failed in his effort to boast population. Hopefully the dispatched today will have better luck.

The Current Standings Are

65 Iroquois 37 Mughal Empire 32 China 17 Mameluks 6 Inca Empire

Bare with me this is my second time playing the first was the Tutorial. If my colonies would have succeeded I would have had allot more points. Hopefully ill have better Luck.

-May 16,1501 the rebellious native dogs upraised in Titcaca. Luckily Atahulpa the 2nd was there to hold them and get in their way. Atahulpa had 9,900 Inca warriors the natives had about 5,500.

-May 23, 1501. The battle in Titicaca still continues our morale was breaking. The enemies were only weakling, which gave the natives a slight advantage. I can’t lose to these native. I ordered priests in Cuzco to resume sacrifices in the name of the one true god the Sun God.

-May 30, 1501. No Atahulpa failed the colony was destroyed the Sun God was angered again at us but we did not know why. We had to win a battle to show him we do this in his name and that we are loyal to only him.

-June 26, 1501. Atahulpa entered the capital and then was resent out to Lima. I was afraid of now losing Lima so I thought let the father and sun protect the colony. I would not lost this colony I was making sure of it 15,000 troops should be enough to stop native uprisings.

-July 1, 1501. We sent a colonist to Lima since it was the only other eligible colony to reach level 6 a city. As of now Lima was level 2.

-July 11,1501. Now both father and Son were in Lima safeguarding it i'm hoping the son has better luck in combat this time around. Also the colonist sent to boost Titicacas population a while ago arrived and rebuilt the colony to level 1.

-September 1, 1501. Our colony in Lima is level 3 now another colonist has been dispatched to it to get Lima to level 4 now.

-November 1,1501 we succeeded in getting Lima to level 4 two more levels to go before it becomes a city and the native scrums are forced to join us. Another colonist has been sent to Lima to get it to level 5.

-January 1,1501. Level 5 colonization in Lima complete. I sent another colonist to Lima to finally make it a city. (I have my fingers crossed so it doesn’t fail.)

-March 1, 1501. Yes finally I get another city up. The city has a population of 7,000. I decide to upgrade its fortress since i’m going to be moving the two armies away from Lima and back to Titicaca to colonize it.

-April 23, 1501. Both of my armies arrive in Titicaca.

-May 9, 1502. Level 2 reached in Titicaca another settler sent to get it to level 3.

-July 9, 1502. Level 3 reached now I sent another colonist to get Titicaca to level 4. (I’m finally on a role.)

-September 11, 1502. Level 4 reached now its time for level 5 then 6 and Titicaca will be a city.

-November 14, 1502. Time to make Titicaca a into a marvelous Inca city.

-January 14,1502. It was a failure the colony is still level 5 I wasn’t discouraged yet so I sent another colonist to it to try again.

-March 2, 1503 fortress upgraded in Lima it is now getting upgraded to a higher level.

-March 19, 1503. Failed again looks like my steak of success has been broken. But I had to try again.

-June 1, 1503. An unexpected turn of events occurred. Lima had gone into revolt. Father and Son were dispatched to deal with the peasants.

-June 30, 1503. Both of the armies arrived to deal with the peasants. The battle started of 15230 of our troops vs. 8900 peasant troops. Moral of both armies was disciplined.

-July 20, 1503. Our army 14963 vs. 8828 peasants Morale both weak. We need a victory because our treasure is getting close to depleted and we need these cities. We only have 636 ducats left.

-July 20,1503. We lost to the rebels. I’m a building troop in Cuzco. I’m trying new kinds of troops mounted Inca warriors being built while Lima is seiged. Lucky I built that fortress up.

-August 16, 1503. Both Father and Son arrive with their armies in Cuzco.

-September 11, 1503. Limas fortress is at -5 while the attackers are at -1.

-October 29, 1503. Our army is built and we have both leaders at disciplined we are ready you attack the rebels again. This time with mounted warriors.

-November 1,1503 Trade and Infrastructure upgraded to level 1.

-November 2, 1503. Lima has fallen to the rebels. Our armies have been sent to recapture it.

-November 15, 1503. We prompted bailiffs in Cuzco.

-November 23, 1503 we engaged the rebels our army 18168/5000/0 vs. the rebel’s 8612/0/0. We out number them drastically but our morale is weak I hope I don’t lose this battle.

-November 26, 1503. Built another 5000 mounted Inca warriors in Cuzco I’m expecting defeat in Lima so i’m build another army that could be sent right away. Our army 17739/4915/0 vs. 8495/ our moral is breaking threes is weak. The fighting is fierce.

-December 1,1503. We won the battle is won our army after the battle 17482/4864/0. We destroyed the rebels and we now were preparing to siege the city and cover the supply lines.

-December 3, 1503. Canceled the mounted Inca warriors in Cuzco and started building just Inca warriors for the siege.

-----

Well that’s all I have the game crashed after that and it wasn’t saved so it would be hard to recreate this scenario completely. My last save for this was in 1501-I think. But still I like knowing what you guys thought of it. This is my first AAR so please be gentle. But I do want to know your likes about it and your dislikes.
Hope you liked it took a while to write for only 3 years passed. It took allot of note taking and allot of time.

Interesting. How did you get the incas to advance in technology? If I remember correctly their tech levels did not rise. (don't have game yet but read about it somewhere in forum).

Would be VERY interesting how spain and portugal manage to defeat fully developed inca empire in south america. It would make their colonising efort a bit harder at least.

Nice aar (althougt not much happened as you had no neighbors to cope with. Didn't you know what happened in europe?)

Try again sometime.

Yes they do advance in tech this is in the fantasia scenrio like its been said. Also you are right not much happened becuase there was no europeans affecting events. The most exciting thig that happened was a revolt. I think ill go play the game as another country then il try the GC. I should have the hang of this game by then.

And since the game crashed on this Inca empire i think i will try Inca in the GC after i play as the given countries. Just to see how challenging it is.

You're sounding a little too much like an Aztec here. :)

My Andes civ anthro prof often said that people confused the practices of the two great American empires. The Incans did not sacrifice people as often as the Aztecs did (although they did once in a while). They just didn't make bloodletting as refined a ritual form as the Aztecs.

Historically, the Aztec empire was VAST, stretching through most of the Andes. One reason why the Spaniards were able to conquer it was that their conquistador arrived in the middle of a civil war. And, oh, there was that dirty trick, too, of kidnapping Atahualpa and asking for a ransom of gold. I think Pizarro killed Atahualpa after they got the gold, if my recollection serves me right.

Yes, it was like this: Atahualpa gave an audience for the Spaniards. The priest presented the bible to him. As Atahualpa didn´t know what to do with the book, he dropped it. At once the Spaniards arrested him (he was so naive to think, that nobody would dare to touch him, so he had no appropriate safguard with him). Pizarro drew a line in a room, which had to be filled with gold up to this for Atahualpa to be set free again. When the room was filled with gold to the brim, the Spaniards killed Atahualpa.
There were some battles, where the Spaniards would have easily been wiped off the continent due to sheer numbers of the Incan forces, but the Incas repeatedly made a big mistake: Always the leader in full ornat was clearly visible among the warriors. The Spaniards simply shot the leader and the warriors panicked...

Yes do it, it would be something different to see in this forum.

I for one haven't seen nothing like this one, everybody goes for the european countries, yes they have more power and chances than the others in the GC, but it would be challenging to see how there is no european colonies in America, also it'll be fun!
