Hello everyone.
I've been playing Ck2 for quite a while and still can't understand the rules for pressing claims. For example here I play as an Emperor of ERE and have invited to my court this guy, who has weak claim on Italy and Lotharingia. However for some reason I'm not able to declare war and press his claims:

But a little bit earlier I did almost the same thing with Bulgaria, pressed claim and got myself a whole kingdom. Can someone please explain what's the matter here?

P.S. Maybe someone cold also help me with this problem:

I want to get rid of this land, but since it has no holdings I can't give it to anyone. Is there any way to pass it from my realm or do I have to spend money to build castles in each province?

Weak claims can only be pressed against regencies,if someone is trying to take the title in a war themselves or women if the claimant is a man. So time to get assassinating.
No you'd need to spend money to put a castle in each county. Unless you get lucky and a nomad invades for them.

You can (try to) press a weak claim if:
*The ruler is a female and claimant is male
*in a regency (including child)
*the title is contested in claim or succession war.
*the claimant is second or third in line to inherit.

I can tell from your screenshot that the first three don't apply. Evidently the last doesn't either (its very rare it does)

Also, that info comes up about 3 seconds after mousing over a weak claim.

Thank you very much!
And sorry I did not pay attention to weak claim description. To be honest, after 370 hours in the game I didn't even notice it once, because it takes some time for this additional info to pop up and I was always looking at the object of the claim for too short :(
