Well I am going to be using the Modern Day Scenario 2 mod. I will skip many of the events till 2012 (i already played up to 9 years, i don't want to replay lol), I will, ofcourse, try to give a fast prologue of the events that occured. I will be trying to roleplay as much as possible.

"I will be either known as the President who caused the beginning of the end of the United States, or saved it from the threats of terror."- Said quietly by the outgoing US President Bush on the eve of him leaving the White House.

The United States entered the 21st Century with an amount of threats it had never faced before.

Afghanistan- Following the 9-11 attacks, the US reacted quickly and decisively... disposing the ruling Taliban Gov't. However, the Al Qaeda And Taliban Insurgency continues to cause problems. There are 9 Motorized divisions (90,000 troops) with 1 Special Forces division (1,000 Spec Ops).

Iraq War- The United States invaded Iraq in January of 2005, 3 years since the terrorist attacks in New York as a devastating show of force to the Islamic World that the United States will not be beaten easily. 34 divisions took part in the invasion... 12 Mechanized divisions (120,000 troops), 6 Marine divisions (60,000 Marines), and 6 Tank divisions (1,200 tanks) for a total of 180,000 troops. The invasion was swift and decision. Within a few months, Iraq was fully occupied. There were bloody insurgency battles. However, due to extensive post-war plannings, the insurgents were quickly put down as soon as they start trouble. By the end of 2007, Iraq was given full independence as the new Iraqi Gov't takes control.

Iran War (wish i could write it like i am currently playing it lol)- Iran had long denied it has been pursuing nuclear weapons since 2003. The United States, after the political disaster of invading Iraq, had no choice but stand firm while doing nothing. On January of 2011, Iran announced to the world that it is now a nuclear power. The United States, afraid of losing face, decidedly on an invasion of Iran, along with what possibly be the best secret operation ever taken- deactivation of the Iranian nuke. Iran was invaded, although the process was muddy. Iranian leadership held up in the province of Tabriz with 270,000 troops(27 divisions) willing to wage guerilla war armed with modern anti-tank weapons. The US had to go for the diplomatic route of convincing the Iranians to give up in return for US quickly leaving Iran, while Iran agrees to small scale nuclear reactor incapable of creating nukes.

Well, those are the major actions that happened between 2003-2011. I had to briefly summed it up. I'll add more details and roleplay for the future wars and crisis.

The State Of The Union 2012
President Rice begins her second and last term on the January of 2012. The United States in the second decade of the 21st Century is in a weaker position that it was 10 years ago. Not because it has grown weaker, but because it's rivals have became quite stronger within a decade. China has built 3 formidable carriers along with dozens of new warships aimed at weakening the supremacy of the United States. China now also outnumbers the United States in the number of warplanes. Russia has also made significant gain in terms of number and technology. Meanwhile, numerous anti-US gov'ts have also strengthened their armed forces through importation of Russian arms.

Excerpts from SuperPower Sweats- an article critiquing the power of the United States

"The United States is at a crossroad of history... it must decide whether to continue to intervene at the expense of it's limited resources, or focus solely on the defense of the United States while ignoring others. While the United States has long been considered a SuperPower, it has shown certain cracks in the facade of unlimited power of the United States. United States is strong, but has shown to be unable to be in more than one place at a time in any significant force. No where has it been more apparent in the utter inability of the United States to have a say in the unification of Taiwan and China as well as the inability to stop the North Korean nuclear program, which has exploded its own first nuclear device... "

It is not all bad news for the United States, however. It has emerged victorious in 2 wars, although the 2 wars did take 3 years to accomplish. The United States continues to lead the world in terms of technology. It's navy still rules the oceans with 12 supercarriers, soon to be joined by another 3 supercarrier by the end of 2012. It also continues to have a strong presence in the Middle East.

United States Central Command

United States Central Command in the Middle East headed by Field Marshal Casey- consisting of 6 mechanized divisions (60,000 soldiers) and 3 armored divisions (600 tanks). Field Marshal Casey is also in charge of 4 multirole fighter wings (200), 2 CAS wings (100), and 2 Tactical Bomber wings (40) all totaling 340 aircrafts attached to the Central Command. To supplement such an array of force on the land are the 30 warships, 3 of which are supercarriers, under the United States Navy 1st Fleet, which also comes under the authority of Field Marshal Casey. All meant to assure US's allies in the region that the United States is not going away any time soon.
