Tuesday the 30th of June, this being the year of 1460
In the February of this year, Brandenburg declared war upon the Pommeranians. We honoured our alliance with Pommerania, but our lack of ships, or any form of land connection to Germany has meant that we have been unable to support them in their just defence. Luckily the Pommeranians seem far more capable than the Novgorodians at defending themselves. In any case, King Dmitriy feels that we should explore the possibility of conquering some territory so as to enable us to be of use in future conflicts. There are whispers that he hopes that the subjugation of Brandenburg might aid his desires for the Imperial throne. For this reason the King has chosen this day to declare war upon the Teutonic Knights, with the goal of conquering Ostpreussen, which we have long considered to be rightfully Pskov's.

Today my estates were doubled in size by the grand decree of our King. It was a most suitable reward for one of my most masterful achievements: the discovery of documents detailing a strong Pskovian claim to the territory of Moskva. Though Dmitriy himself may not live to enforce this claim, his descendants surely shall, and this has been a most important step towards Pskov's future rule of all the Russias.
Friday the 30th of July, this being the year of 1461
A long hated enemy is no more, the Teutonic Order is now broken. Once they were the fearsome invaders, who had for generations threatened our independence, our culture, and our religion. Now they are the subjects of our crown. Such is the glory of Pskov. Prussian infantry has served as the bulk of our forces since the reforms of Feodosiy Uglisky, and the taking of Ostpreussen will only increase the influence of Prussian ideas within our military circles. But I hope this will not lead to a weakening or corruption of the purity of our Russian culture, and heaven forbid a conversion to Catholicism. Luckily, for now, we have not had too much trouble caused by the diversity of races and religious worship within Pskov's domain. There have been the occasional rebellion, but peasants will always rebel about something. A side affect of our conquest has been that we now have some loyal shipwrights, and can finally build up a naval force to defend our shores. The king, however, things it more prudent to build transport cogs so that our military might play a larger role in land warfare around the Baltic.
Thursday the 7th of December, this being the year of 1461
The master of the mint, Dmitriy Volotsky is dead. Some say from the fumes of the melting furnace. A Ruthenian noble by the name of Pankrati Vnukov has become the King's new military advisor, as over the last few decades the focus of current affairs has shifted from the need for wealth, towards the need for force. Gone are the days of my father's father, when mercenaries were the only thing keeping Pskov from defeat, now we must find our own strength.
Tuesday the 1st of October, this being the year of 1472
Today was a day of large news. Firstly, Ivan Beznosov, the Livlander statesman was murdered last night, apparently over the settlement of a gambling debt. He has quickly been replaced by Vikentiy Korobyin from Rzhev. Secondly, and of far more importance, the Austrians have created a new Centre of Trade in Wien. This may have the effect of severely weakening trade in Venezia. The trading leagues have already been in decline for some time: the Genoese and Venetian leagues have few members, and the Hanse is no more. Trade in Novgorod, though never extremely lucrative, has stayed steady and reliable.
Thursday the 9th of January, this being the year of 1473
The King is dead. Dmitriy was a good ruler, highly astute at diplomatic affairs. His son Vasiliy follows in his footsteps somewhat, but he lacks the flair and grandeur of his esteemed father. Still, I think it likely that he will bring good to Pskov, he is no fool and Pskov's star is in the ascendent.
Sunday the 27th of September, this being the year of 1474
Muscovy has announced its intention to invade Vetluga, held by the Muslim Nizhny Novgorodians, whom we have guaranteed the independence of. This was the very event that we have been awaiting: an excuse to fight Muscovy in a defensive war. The Muscovites are severly outnumbered, and we have our Prussian Men at Arms to once again hold the line.
Sunday the 7th of November, this being the year of 1475
The Emperor has called for a vote on a proposed Reichsreform. Pskov is, as always, at the forefront of reform. A new National Trade Policy was enacted just last year. But the King does worry that perhaps a successful vote might place too much power in the hands of Bohemia. It is felt that we must evict them from the imperial throne, and soon. In other news, our conquest of Muscovy is proceeding well: a majority of their provinces have been occupied, including their capital, and their army has been crushed.
Saturday the 2nd of July, this being the year of 1476
We are a month or so away from total victory over the Muscovites, but the real newsworthy item which I feel I should record is that the Austrians have created yet another Centre of Trade, this one in Karnten. Venezia looks to be ruined.
16th July peace
Friday the 1st of December, this being the year 1477
Pskov's Kings must choose most unlucky advisors, myself excluded. The military advisor, Pankrati Vnukov, has died and now yet another advisor must be found. The King has decided that he shall select second diplomat, for he worries for my own health. I have recommended a young Prussian named Mikhail Dalmatov (his family had the good sense to take on Russianised names after the conquest). Whilst the kingdom will of course be the worse off for my death, whenever I do die, at least there will be someone almost of same degree of talent as I have shown in foreign affairs.
Sunday the 25th of November, this being the year 1478
Muscovy has moved its capital to Kholmogory in Archangelsk. Our repeated conquests have rendered their southern holdings isolated and insecure. Now in the North, Muscovy shall not be any threat, or any interest to us apart from the final conquest of their remaining Southern provinces.
Sunday the 20th of December, this being the year 1481
Foolish as it might be, the King has decided to launch his offensive against Muscovy in the middle of winter. Moskva shall soon be ours. More worrying is the war that the Austrians are fighting against the Bohemians. We understand that the Bohemians invaded Poland, annexing their single remaining province, but that triggered a war in which the Austrians occupy Bohemia's Polish provinces, and are currently making their way through Bohemia itself. Austria looks to be the bully that we may soon need to take on for ourselves, especially if they block our way into Central Europe. Bohemia's days as Emperor seem finished, and Brandenburg looks to be the next to be elected. This is a far better prospect than the election of Austria, heaven forbid that that happens.
Sunday the 15th of August, this being the year of 1482
And now our conquest is complete. Moskva is taken, and we have forced the Muscovites to renounce any claims they had upon our provinces.
Saturday the 2nd of April, this being the year of 1483
King Vasiliy, seemingly in an attempt to equal the glorious achievement of his father has declared war upon Lithuania. This seems foolhardy, given the status of Austria as Defender of the Catholic Faith. Austria's armies are significantly larger than our own. Our one possible saving grace is that Austria shares such a small border with Lithuania, and thus all Austrian forces will be forced to move through the border Sandomierz-Lublin. Defensive tactics at this chokepoint may buy us enough time.

Saturday the 10th of December, this being the year of 1483
Once again my brilliance is apparent to all! I have discovered a diplomatic solution by which we may now attack the weakened Emperor without any decrease in our national stability. Since Austria is already at war with us there is nothing to fear from an additional war with Bohemia. It is feats like this which have set me apart from other diplomats, other nations envy Pskov for having the privilege of my service.
Tuesday the 30th of May, this being the year of 1484
After two short campaigns we have peace with both Bohemia and Lithuania. Peace with Lithuania came in February, and today Bohemia accepted our terms of transferring ownership of Mazovia to our hands. But still the Austrians assault us, but we have the advantage of the home defence. Only time shall tell if we shall prevail, but it is my fondest hope I might live to see Austria's chief diplomat Girolamo Rovigo come begging to me for peace. Ah, that would put him in his place!
Sunday the 10th of December, this being the year of 1484
Novgorod has foolishly decided to declare war upon us in a vain attempt to reclaim their former territories. This is most amusing, it seems that throughout history the Novgorodians have made some of the worse military decisions conceivable. How they think that their seven thousand strong army can defeat an opponent with forty thousand men (albeit currently engaged in combat with Austria) is unbeknown to me. Ah, they have formed an alliance with Sweden. Oh, but that shall not be much help to them.
Monday the 8th of January, this being the year of 1485
It seemed implausible, it seemed improbable, but we now find that the Austrian army has been worn down to a mere eight thousand men. Pommeranian-Pskov cooperation has been most profitable and successful over my lifetime, and they have always shown themselves to be competent allies. Of course, we shall lose our advantage if we go on the offensive, and thus it seems likely that this war shall take many, many years. The King desires to break Austria apart, remove it as a threat, and that will certainly take many victories to force.
On the 1st of October 1485, Radoslav Shemyakin was brutally murdered by a gang of Austrian diplomats.
