I am hopeful that the events are written into the game so that Germany does not just anschluss Austria, but anschluss or war whoever happens to 'own' the states. The same applies to the German speaking areas of Czechoslovakia as well as Danzig.

Before the treaty of Versailles, there was this empire called the Austro-Hungarian Empire 1867–1918 , before that was known as the Austrian Empire. Both states Daniel occupied in the stream belonged to this entity pre-WWI. I don't understand this idea people have that Austria BELONGS to Germany. The Austro-Hungarian empire was an ally of Hitlers Germany in WW1. So why wouldn't he support its rise again especially if it shared his ideology, if (as they hadn't done the focus) an hadn't decided to annex it themselves. I could understand outrage at a player controlled Poland rampaging through the Czechs, Hungry and Austria.

Yeah the Austro-Hungarian, with the Austrians being the leaders of the union. But germans ending up under hungarian rule wouldn't have flied well with nationalists such as hitler, especially since hitler was actually from austria. Anschluss was him adding his homeland to the land he ruled.

Hitler did fight for Germany in ww1, and he was to "own" it to some degree by 1936.
No hitler fought for Bavaria in WW1.

Yes and 1918 the Republic of German-Austria
GermanAustriaMap.png
was founded, with the first rule that the German Austria is a Republic in which the power is by it's people.
The second rule already stated that German-Austria is part of the Republic of Germany and adopts all german laws.
Also known as the (late) Großdeutsche Lösung (Great-German Solution) (Initially it was under Habsburger Dominance).

No it means as a minor you actually are a minor. It means you can't mess with Majors ambitions and have to be careful with what you do besides worrying about world tension. I don't think being a minor should being able to do whatever you want. That's what Majors are for. Minors should mean something. Meaning you've gotta be careful. Maybe you have to invade Romania because others are in the sphere of other nations. Or Yugoslavia. I dislike the idea of a minor being able to ruin a Majors plans and the Major being like go ahead! GO GO! It's silly. You should be limited. I'm sorry. That's how I see it. I'm not against minors having wars and gaining power. I am against them directly interfering with a key part of a nations building or gearing up for war.

I agree. Minors should be "forced" (out of opportunistic behaviour, not forced by game mechanics) to tread carefully and maybe work together with majors. That's also a reason I think why so many countries sided with Germany. The Romanians did not fight because they wanted Germans to have their Lebensraum so badly. The Romanians helped the Germans because they hoped to profit from this war themselves.
Minors in the game should need to use more diplomacy and to get a major on their side to accomplish things. A state in the balkans running AMOK would probably draw attention by Germans, Italians, British and maybe even Soviets.

I much prefer what I've seen before Daniel. Minors forming alliances with others and I can get invading and taking a country or two. But at a certain point the lands you are taking are what someone else find their sphere of influence and you are screwing with a Major. I love the World Tension system for the allies. I just hope that Germany and the Soviets will be active in politics like that also.
