I love this new expansion!
Just 50 years into the Grand Campaign, I have seen nations do both historical and plausible conquests, I have seen nations like Crete secede with nationalist rebellions, and seen Greek provinces rebel away from an Ottoman Empire in deadlock with the Timurids to join the Eastern Roman Empire; I have actually been nearly beaten in a war when the enemy did not just besiege a worthless border province, but actually sent its armies against my own troops weakened by siege assault; and I finally have advisors to choose from even a few years into the game OTHER than one-star worthless colonial advisors or stability enhancers.
And I can actually use my fleets without the incredibly irritating micromanagement... this will prove to be very useful in a few decades after I build my colonial empire.
Still a few weird things though -- I see both kingdoms and duchies, and after a good beating I noticed France had turned from the former into the latter. Meanwhile (my) Burgundy did the reverse. It can't be simply power level, since even one-province Gelre is a 'kingdom'.
I also saw Trebizond conquered by Candar and then rebel away from Genoa.. as a tribal federation WTF?
But overall a very cool expansion. I am actually enjoying playing the vanilla game immensely now.
