in game terms, whats the point of turning countries to your political side

As we know, we can influence countries politcs and turn then to our side political side.

Germany turned Spain to a facist regime.

Supose a Italian player turns greek facist or a URSS player turns Finland socialist.

If these countries dont join the war (as spain didnt join axis in real life), what the game advantages to turn a country to yopur political side if it did not join the war in your side

Germany turned Spain to a facist regime.
Germany didn't turn Spain fascist, they merely sent supplies and troops to help Franco in the Spanish Civil War, which had erupted due to tensions in the Spanish society, not due to some foreign intervention or coup. Italy did the same, and the Soviets sent material to the Republican side.

Besides, I don't even know if I would call Franco a fascist, his ideology was sort of a mixture between falangism and monarchism. Hitler wasn't a fascist either, he was national socialist. I know all of these ideologies belong to the category of "fascism" in HoI4, but in reality they had a lot of differences - fascism was generally more conservative, pro-monarchy and clerical than national socialism, and it didn't subscribe to any racial theories.

also no worry about them joining the allies. meaning you'll never have to worry about a front opening up over there. a fascist / communist regime you helped install is probably going to be okay with you rampaging through europe, more than a democracy that thinks it could be next

In WWW they had no difficulties in getting Spain to join the Axis, so I actually think that getting countries to join your faction should be more difficult.

In game terms you will get full vision of what the country is "seing". If it is like HOI3 you will also get naval basing rights, measning Germany could place subs there and strike over a bigger area. My strategy in HOI3 is always to get Brazil, Spain and Portugal to join Axis but not go to war. Free sub bases and i can hold the British Fleet occupied and strengthen the Italian navy.

If I remember correctly (and I may very well not), countries of the same ideology get trade bonuses.

So, all else being equal, Germany (or Italy) will get a bigger chunk of Spanish resources compared to, say, the UK.
Also, I would imagine it will be easier to make them join your faction.

That is a matter of balancing and honestly I was more worried how Daniel steamrolled the USSR then how easily Spain joined the Axis.

the AI was pretty weak in WWW (daniel noted there had been major improvements since in one of the episodes) combined with the fact an ahistorical event happened (trotsky) that gave the soviet union negative penalties. Which resulted in a hugely weakened USSR against the end boss of HOI4.

i don't think it will be all too worrying when the game releases. AI improvements + i believe there is a "historical" setting from what i heard, that will make sure stalin carries out the purge among other historical decisions

It wasn't just an ahistorical event, it wasn't supposed to fire that early even if it did fire. It's supposed to be a longer term thing that can happen if the purges don't go through but in WWW happened near the start of the game. The flat 40% penalty to industrial throughput murdered their ability to raise an army at any stage, normally they would have been able to build up as "normal" for at least a few years, based on what my understanding is.

Coup a country probably make that country a very loyal ally to you. Countries that share the same ideology probably get a decent relationship bonus and are much more likely to get into a faction.

That is a matter of balancing and honestly I was more worried how Daniel steamrolled the USSR then how easily Spain joined the Axis.

He did. But as was pointed out, that was a "Trotsky" version of the USSR (with -40% industry), not a "Stalin" USSR. Daniel saw that weakness and pounced on it very early, and very quickly, not letting the Soviets build up their strength properly. And there were bugs that helped him. Hopefully the release game will play differently - especially if Stalin actually happens.
