Hi,
As a fairly new returning player one of the biggest areas I struggle with is working out what happened somewhere if I missed it, or knowing why I am losing the battles or how I might turn things around. Naval battles show the little report icons on the map which are great. Could we get this for major land and air battles too?
In addition, even though I have intel I actually don’t always have the best idea of what I might need to beat the opponent. For example in my last game I only just realised that the enemy had huge amounts of CAS which was deadly. Commander requests could help that because they have the expertise.
So I would really appreciate a new feature which provides more feedback to the player. My thoughts with examples.
- battle reports (from major defeats or victories). Similar to naval battles shown on the map that contain for example, info of divisions involved, their templates, equipment, air power etc. Also perhaps make it soI can go back to it for reference later on as well, even if I delete them from the map - so maybe store all of them in the theatre log too. Do same for naval and air battles and make a theatre log for them too...
- commander requests. Isn’t it realistic that if a commander wants/ needs something they might ask for it? e.g. “we need more fighters on our front, as the enemy has air superiority” or “we desperately need anti tank on this front because the enemy have heavy tanks which we cannot pierce. These could be pop ups written as letters or shown in the corner of their portrait as a exclamation mark or something.
- logistical/ attritional reports, I was also thinking better feedback here, or include them similar to battle reports so we can look back and see attritional losses and also why. For example, number of deaths this month to jungle fever, number of deaths to training accidents, etc. At the moment the only way to know what’s happening seems to be using the theatre log which isn’t obvious.
what do you guys think? You probably don’t mind as much if you are very experienced and used to the log but as a new player it’s always tough figuring out what is happening. Could this help do you think?
cheers
