In our little land the Spain-Porto alliance was ended in this year. After the end Porto became the new leader of the alliance and Spain joined. Suddenly the title of the war in europe turned and france started retake his terrians fast. So we Porto and Spain decided to balance the game and attack france if he dont sign a WP with AU. So france signed a WP in europe. For AU war was ended great vitory in america by taking half of english colonies there.
U can see now that our Porto-Spain alliance will be neutral under the next war because it also seems to be public that now England will dow AU....
However the most important thing for our neutrality is still the NAP with france wich seems that france r not interested to sign a nap with us because he think we r weak. however with england we have no confligt now, but we can not risk that after a fracnce victory in europe france will dow us. so while france dont want to sign nap with us we can not ofer neutrality in the war.
as i play holland i can say that holland thinks portugal is hiding in spain's shadow and tries to pull spain in her sneaky decisions

yes, hiding in her shadow was wrong term. what i meant was holland thinks portugal is trying to use spain in her benefits and is a little selfish
now you say you will protect spain from any kind of agression but when you was thinking ottoman empire will attack spain, you was not going to protect spain and you were eager to leave spain alone. dutch see portugal as an untrustable and sneaky nation and if holland thought that she was strong as nowadays portugal, believe me she would declare war immediately (1v1 or not) but for now i dont think holland can win a war against portugal all by herself

Actually, England left the Spain/Portugal alliance early on to join a freshly agreed alliance with France and Holland, since Portugal proved unwilling to help defend against Austria and we knew Von D would take advantage of Elio being absent and only a sub in Spain, to DoW that alliance with Portugal agreeing to support him secretly.
Austria DoWed England with no CB, and France and Holland joined the defence right away. Austria took all but one English prov in NA and most of France quickly.

I don't know why Von D wants English culture provinces, or why Portugal thinks he will be safer by giving his support to Austria, but it is plain that Austria cannot be allowed to keep those English provinces in America. He should give them up peacefully or risk war. Portugal has publically stated that he will not go against such an action.

France is reliable and a man of his word, who is prepared to share in success. That is what I seek in an ally.
Had Elio not been subbed this session, maybe it would be different, but now it's history...

I seem to remember that France and Spain were in good relationships last session after the treaty of Pyrenees (provs to France, Roussillion spanish core). Maybe a NAP or I'm wrong?
