Good evening.
As anyone can tell you, when you and someone else are both in identically declared wars for the exact same thing, you become hostage to the other guy warring you because you two are "conflicting for that throne". That's to be expected.
So, here is where it went wrong. I am playing a 768 AD Iron Man game in Turkestan, trying to get the "Nobody's Business but the Turks" Achievement. I declared war on the Yaik Empire, a One Province Minor, Nomadic state. I easily crushed them, but half way through, the not-Jew, Tengri Khazar Khaganate declared for the same province. They had twice as many men as me.
No biggie, I reasoned. I'd just let them take Yaik and end their hostilities, right?
WRONG.
When someone takes a province you are warrning for, or the liege changes in that province, you are supposed to end the war with a "Caus Belli Invalid" notifier in the messages.
This didn't happen.
Instead, I found myself at war with Khazaria after they took Yaik. The Yaik Empire was crushed, so I was supposed to cease my war, like normal. This meant I had to surrender and pay about a hundred of pieces of Gold, putting me at negative sixty three gold pieces and mauling my hordes before I could send the surrender.
This is a bug that needs to be fixed quickly. When a hostile enemy running a doppelganger war alongside you takes the war goal before you do, your war is supposed to stop. It didn't, and that caused me dearly.
I hope this is addressed soon.
