So with Royal Court out, some thoughts came to me how to improve marriages.

Marriages
Default Marriages should provide non-aggression pacts. These can be turned into alliances with further negotiations using hooks, or willing to trade favors. For example changing the feudal contract to be in your vassal's favor so that his genius daughter can marry you or perhaps you have to give them a seat in your court or on your council. Like wise marriages should be an option for peace following wars. Securing peace by offering your daughter's hand in marriage to your opponent's son.

Weddings
The wedding ceremony should have the option for a grand event, which uses the court room if you have Royal Court. Let us see the various ceremonies that occur in weddings around the world. It should have an activity associated with it similar to feasting as well, since those followed the actual ceremony.


These are two things that I think could help to make marriages better. What do others think?

The issue with your suggestion that marriages should just give a NAP instead of an alliance is that the AI would almost certainly not be able to deal with that:
In CK2 you had to make an alliance after a marriage which led to the AI rarely having allies. The ck3 system where most AI realms have some allies makes significantly more sense and removing the main thing giving them those would be a huge boost for the player.
