At the moment at our 'official site' only.

Most important changes to IGC 1.7c:

- New Spain (Mexico) can now become independent.
- There´s a utility 'patch.exe', which automatically adds the needed tag changes to Your text.csv (so no more manual editing of text.csv by the user is required). :)
- There´s a utility 'IGCConfig.exe' which allows You to set the playable nations for Your next game. You can conveniently choose from all nations available in 1492. Playing minors (or playing with all other powers annexable) does now not require any editing anymore. :)

For the other changes, consult the enclosed readme. Please read the readme carefully before installing. If any questions are left, please consult the enclosed FAQ.

hartmann, when are you going to make eu2?

hey can you make a patch that extends the game to 1892?

imagine that, eu2 1492-1892 more time to play! more terrritories to explore (whole world) ! more countries to play! more technology to discover! more history to learn about! maybe other awesome improvements to the game that continue to make eu the greatest historical strategy game ever!!!!

I've downloaded the new version, but the new patch and config programs don't work for me. (I'm not complaining; just reporting. I've done the text editing manually, which is really no big deal.) I have the US version of EU. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has problems running the two new programs that come with ICG 1.08. Thanks.

If the 'auto' programs don't work, you can edit the tags as with the previous versions. The necessary changes are in the text.* files (where * is your language version; for example text.eng for the US version). Just use Wordpad like before.

The new version, like the others, is great otherwise.

I'm running Windows ME and thought I had the latest java since Windows Update didn't list anything.

MS isn't very good att promoting 'compeating tech' ie stuff they don't make on their own =)

For Java stuff, always go to the real source

java.sun.com

For the (really) latest Windows version goto

Hartmann,I dont want to abuse of your kindness, but is there a way to make a program that fully randomizes the leaders (both in quality and in lifespan), monarchs (same as leaders) and AI behaviour of major countries?

Whatever your answer, thanks in advance! ;-)

A question...

I love these changes, especially the easy 'play any country' utility.

My question is, how will using both or either of these utilities affect playing a multiplayer game of EU? Will the host machine's version be the one officially played or what?

I would love to use both these utilities, but I've been playing multiplayer and don't want to screw that up.

Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to add my thanks and appreciation to the great work on the ICG. The playable country app is very nice. Only question is that when I clicked on the patch box the dos box appears and then vanishes. Is this correct? Everything else appears fine with the map changes and the playable country app works fine. Am I missing something?

Hartman, if there were such an award as the 'EU Oscars' for valor and outstanding service, and I were in the position to award I would surely be sending your statuette via the mail. As it is, you'll have to settle for a humble thank you to yourself and the entire IGC team.

OK, I see that the Grenada tag has changed so I think everything is a go with the patch program. By the way, did I mention previously how thankful I am that Hartmann and others have put so much effort into improving an already excellent game. I cant wait for the next Paradox project.

Thanks for all those kind words, folks. :) Just to avoid misunderstandings I wanted to say, that the IGC is a product of dedicated teamwork and not mine alone. Every member of the IGC team is responsible for another aspect of the mod. At the moment the team is:

1) Doomdark
2) Hartmann
3) McGuinn
4) The folks posting at the scenario forum

In the first stages of the IGC, Doomie and me both worked on the scenario(s). In the meantime we have divided work so that I do the bickering with the folks at the forum plus the work on the scenario, whereas Doomie programs all the nifty utilities and runs our 'official site'. So the cherished 'patch.exe' and 'IGCConfig.exe' were Doomie´s work alone (I suck at Java!). McGuinn does all the great flags and shields for us. :) Last not least, the folks posting at the scenario forum provide us with invaluable historical background. Some (like Jas and Tanone) even did some monarch- and leaderfiles for us thereby sparing me a lot of typing. :)

Cheers, Hartmann

Thank you all for the praise. I promise the next version of the IGC Configuration tool will be even better!

Arinvald,

The DOS prompt that appears when you run IGCConfig is normal, but it is only useful if something goes wrong. I.e. it acts as a Java console, displaying error messages. Since it is confusing I will compile the next version without it...

Why not add another 50 years, taking it to 1942? Imagine: you could change the course of WWI. Doing so in a way which prevents WWII could lead to a huge number of victory points. :)
