Improved Denmark Map

After my vision of a better England was so well recieved, I'm just going to start doing other places (mainly in Europe) that I think deserve more better provinces.

Please note that the idea of these changes is too add depth to an area and make it more accurate, but not to go completely indepth in certain areas with tiny provinces. They still need to be clickable and a reasonable size. I'm not going to make an area a mass of utrechts and maltas.

So, this time my focus was Denmark. Here is what I would change if I was Paradox:

The changes added a total of 4 new provinces. This resulted in 1 new province for Holstein and 3 for Denmark.

I have also added a Scanian culture to break up the large danish block.

I have also changed the Base Tax a bit. Overall there has been a small amount of Base Tax added, so that it does not lag behind the buffed HRE. However, it is only a couple of BT.

Again I will be uploading it to the workshop soon, so you guys will be able to play with it. Any amendments would be great. My expertise is not in this area of the world so it could be horribly wrong!

Well i don't know if i like a Scanian culture, but i totally like the idea of a separated Nordjylland. And the Laaland province should be named Lolland.

What's wrong with scanian? :3 If it is ahistorical I can remove it but I kind of need a new culture for the danish region as otherwise it is quite large D: eh, I guess it doesn't matter

AFAIK, lolland used to be called laaland (according to the internets so it could be wrong?) I've set it to be called laaland if owned by a scandanavian culture (as it sounds more swedish/danish anyways) but lolland if it is owned by anyone else. Tell me if that is wrong or if it is just too irritating lol.

Laaland might sound Danish, but not Swedish at all. If 'Laaland' is correct, I'd probably be something like 'Lalland' (or even just Lolland) in Swedish (we don't like double vowels).

Scanian culture is prettt much what was created when Sweden culture converted danish provinces in real life, and should therefore be removed.

Well on modern danish it is Lolland but i don't know what it was called in eu4 timeline, but i can kinda see the reason behind aa because aa on danish sounds like å, and the o in Lolland sounds quite much like å.

Hm... well the thing is that the idea of a Swedish people is something that did not really exist before the age of nationalism in the 1800s, just like every other place in Europe. I guess that the most accurate thing to do would be to kind of give a culture of it's own, but that makes the whole concepts of culture in EU4 meaningless and would look just plain weird since the same reasoning could really be applied to every region in the game.

That's is an additional part of what makes it weird to add Scanian but not any others, while adding all would just not be preferable. I think that the division of culture between Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Sami and Finish is good as it is.

Some parts are already on the workshop. Other than that you are waiting on me finishing Russia and Southern Italy (I was also waiting till 1.13 but apparently that is a while away). I will probably be uploading the complete edition later this week so stay tuned! (Will release both a 1.12 and 1.13 version so people playing with the beta can play)

Aah cool. Do you have a roadmap on the other parts of your mod? Especially because I am looking into a mod, but I don't want to end up my games breaking mid-game because of new patches

That should be it for stuff that will break patches I may end up adding new countries and I am hoping to create a Shattered Europe style bookmark as I love that gamemode. Other than that no new provinces so no broken saves.

I'm not saying that I won't add new provinces (as if I get bored one day I may decide to create more in a different part of the globe) but they won't get broken with MOST updates

I don't know if possible, but perhaps make it so that if Sweden conquer Scania it there will be created an inactive core and the culture will culture shift to Scandinavian? This would only happen if Sweden culture converts them.
