Please update the AI. Its behavior is really bad. Just some examples, i think, someone else has also some improvements for the AI. I put the complaint in black, then a way to improve in red.
- It picks way to much bad fights during wars. Therefore you can easily beat the AI. Just have some stack sit in the mountains, and some stacks behind to reinforce. The AI will attack you in the mountains and you will win due the reinforcements.
- Instead of only looking at the army in that province, let the AI also have a look at the the possible reinforcements. Sometimes i already has the feeling the AI already looks at the possible reinforcements. If that is true: Just give that more weight for the decision 'dont attack that army'.
- The AI choose ideagroups based on there real history. As long as the game and there real history are the same, it is not a problem. But when the game diffuse of the real history, another idea group makes maybe more sense. If you beat France such that it is a OPM, it chooses ideagroups like it is the scary BBB. And if some OPM growns to a great power, it chooses idea groups based on being a OPM. That makes no sense to me.
- Dont use a plain list for each nation to let them pick the next idea group. Make the decision a bit more dynamic.
- The AI dont know when it is time to siege. Sometimes defeated the enemy and you can siege all provinces. But the AI is much smarter: Instead of sieging 10 provinces with a 3k army, they siege 1 province with a 30k stack. That doesnt make sense most times (if enemy is defeated and has (almost) no army. Ive seen that more than 1 vassal choose the some province to siege, which lead to a 150k stack sieging a single province. That really doesnt make sense.
- Just add some rulers to the algorithm that let the AI spread out his troops if the army of the enemy is almost not existend. Also add the rule to not siege the same province if there is already a large enough army.
- It cant handle autonomy (it looks like it never increase / decrease autonomy). As consequence, the AI is hit very hard by rebels. Again and again and again. Easy for you at enemies, they are weakend by the rebels. You can take down most nations by just siege all provinces, let them get 20 WE and peace out. Since the have no army, rebels break the country. If the AI was able to handle rebels better, rebels have less change to break there country, since the spawn less. Also: if you look at your vassals, it is pretty annoying the get rebels all the time. And you will get almost none. I sometimes even end up fighting rebels in vassals, instead beating the army of other nations.
- Add some algorithm for the AI to lower / increase the autonomy. Seems for me that it is not that hard to come up with some rules. Just like 'if unrest is less then -10, increase autonomy' and 'if unrest is higher then 10, decrease autonomy'. This rules are really simplistic (a human make much smarter decisions), but even this simplistic rule will improve the AI a lot. It can handle rebels much better.
