Good points BM. The Non-Agression pacts between the US and Latin-America need to be removed. The Good Neighbor policy was not instituted until 1934.

I have implemented very slight changes that should be released with the next patch (don't ask me when it's out though, I have no control on this).
Now my only contribution to this game will be helping novapaddy convert WIF mod (which I don't think is a very good idea but he is very dedicated to it so I will assist him as much as I can afford to).
There are a many things that I disagree with in the way this game is being developed post-release and my opinion has been disregarded for very long but this is not the place to go into details. I just wanted to let you know so you can understand why I left the team some months ago and why I will most likely never join it again (and I have not been asked to anyway).
I'm just glad we managed to sell much more copies than anyone could ever predict. I can remember all the bashing and all those who told us this project was a mistake (and even if Paradox won't make any announcement on that, I am convinced they were happily surprised too - if they even care).
As for the future, I am involved in two new games now, but of course I can't reveal anything yet. But surely you will be kept up to date.
See you! :)

My contribution to improving the mod 1933 scenario, would be something like this:

I don't know if you could even "program" this: But make the player "scared".. he gradually realises he is in the grip of events that he cannot fully control, like the World is steadily heading towards Disaster, unexpected happenings... things going crazy... Civilization losing control... the rise of Madness in GER/SOV... the "civilised world"... Normal people starting to do abnormal things, and not realising it, until it is way too late.

Have Decisions where the player isn't just happily following historic events, but his Decision will have severe consequences, if he does, or does not. So, he's xxxxed anyway... Deeper Immersion, More and then More again.

Now, that'll give you something to think about over your coffee.

Hello Fernando Torres! Glad to see you trying to improve the 1933 scenario! :) I'm really content with it tho but I got a few things to suggest, mainly regarding the claim/core topics.
- I never heard that GER has claims on Switzerland. Unlike Italy which claimed the Italian areas, Hitler never had such a claim until the whole mid-war "Operation Tannenbaum" operation and the question if the German parts should be included into the Greater_Germanic_Reich after the final victory (which to be honest would be a decent event after a victory against the USSR for instance..).

- Germany should have core on each of the provinces which were lost in 1919, specificly the corridor. The same with the Sudetenland, which was claimed by the Government even before the Munich Conference. Take out the command from the specific events that "addcore"...

- The whole "right mouse click and claim possibility" is pretty awesome I must say. Would it be possible to add a function that puts a red dot on the map as well as a yellow one? Or that "claimed provinces" turn into "national provinces (red dot)" after a certain time. Example: GER does the Anti-Comintern pact in 1937 and loses claims on Southern Tyrol. If I wanted to regain the "national-core" again I need to change the savefile, since all I can do is put a yellow dot on the map by claiming. That option I really would enjoy!

Personally, I would really like if the alliances weren't so hardcoded. An event chain that leads to a GER-ENG alliance has always been my idea but I'm not that capable of modding unfortunately. Just throwing it on the table..:)

If its not in already what about an purge in the party 1934 for Germany that has elements of the nights of the long nights.
Let Ernst Rölm be a possibel minister in the 1933 scenario.

germany in 33 is way to weak, you cant do anything till 35 or 36 because dissent is so high .you cant afford to build anything including factories or units. also the 1914 scenario ought have a little time berfore the war ,not right at the start aug 1914 great game keep up the great job. thanks

Hey here's some of my ideas for the 1933 scenario, sorry if people have already said them.

Germany in General: Start off with slightly more IC and less dissent, Germany didn't have more dissent than France or the USSR at the time.

Germany (communists):If you pick the communists in the Reich stag, your sliders should change to the USSR ones, full central planning and hawk for example as the USSR would immediately start influencing Germany. Upon the communists coming to power there should be an event which covers Hitlers death, probably a dissent hit as it would be a obvious move if the communists came to power, alternatively you could have a civil war but that might be a bit to hard to implement. Communist Germany needs more Generals, some events should be implemented such as purges of officers leaving some Nazi Generals defecting to the communist cause and some dying/leaving the country, maybe for other countries to serve as a general? Upon Germany become communist, core provinces in the west should still be present such as the claim on Alsace-Lorraine, countries in Europe should start joining the Allies, they wouldn't just sit and watch as two major powers become communist, for that reason I would have countries such as Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland (breaking their neutrality) and Possibly Italy or even Japan start to join the Allies or at least all sign Anti Communist Pacts, providing blueprints and benefits to one another to compensate for the now very strong communists. There should be events handing over troops/airplanes to Germany from the USSR, to boost the German army. As for the Spread the revolution event, I would reduce its effectiveness and maybe add a chance to implement a Fascist government if the communist coup fails, due to people turning to Fascists and right wing extremists to solve the problem. When the war finally begins between the Communists and the Allies I would have many non aligned countries join the Allies as they would know of their fate if the Allies lost, this would balance the fact that the Allies would be versing two powerful major nations. Finally, add a possibly of an anschluss (might have miss pelt)with a communist Austria.

Germany (Nazis): If choosing Nazi's in the Reich stag dissent should significantly decrease, more so than with the communists, making it the obvious choice. Through the first few years of the game, Germany should be gifted tanks/airplanes depending on how much money they invest into Big industrial corporations to compensate for their lack of starting IC. The attempted coup in 1934 should have a chance of success or at least different options to take regarding it. Germany should be able to access events which return or might return core provinces from countries such as Belgium or Denmark, maybe even returning some colonies if played right. The building of the Bismark should be an event that consumes money and gives the ship much later on through event, that is if you choose to fund the production with money, this is to add flavor and also avoid having to put it in the production slider.

United Kingdom: Should be, from game start or at least close to the start, the possibility of a fascist take over, from Oswald Mosley, similar to Mussolini, this is more of an extra addition, an option the AI would generally not take. The UK needs to have less control on the commonwealth, they shouldn't be allowed to assume military command and swarm all the troops from the commonwealth into France upon the German declaration of war. The commonwealth should only commit some troops, not all, possibly from an event which gives Britain half of the commonwealth armies/air force/navy. United Kingdom should have the possibility to declare war on Germany if they have an anschluss or go over conscription laws from Versailles, this would be a massive dissent hit however. If Germany chose the communist route, Britain should have an event similar to spread the revolution which draws countries into the allies, Japan and Italy would be a nice edition to the allies if they chose to join.

France: Possibility of a communist takeover due to the political turmoil, or even a paternal autocrat such as Petain to come to power, army should get events which lower org and morale as soon as they are at war with Germany, this will however ease if France can hold Germany. France should be able to choose if they will hand over the Saar, regardless of what the occupants vote, this could give the option for Germany to declare war. Similar to Britain they should be able to declare war on Germany if they go against the laws of Versailles, but at a high dissent cost so the AI wouldn't usually or never pick it.

USSR: More starting dissent, and a possibility or Trotsky returning to power (add a description and unique benefit to Trotsky). High revolt percentage in Ukraine and also a possibility of releasing them. A chance for the Romanov's to come back to power, maybe a bit to much to ask though. More purges but also a chance to save some commanders such as marshal Tukhachevsky.

Austria: A chance to re-unite the Austro-Hungarian Empire, or at least add cores from event to it.

Some of these requests may be a bit to much, but these are my suggestions :)

I have a few ideas and observations for the 33 scenario.

Observations first:

Well im not entirely sure that much change is needed for German start. Yes 40% Dissedence and low IC is hard to overcome. But in three games I was able to have between 90 to 110 divisions, 20 air units, and a navy that was competitive for what the Germans started off with. In two of three games I was able to start lengthening enlistment before the night of the long knives and the third i was in process of clicking when the night of the long knives triggered. It gave me the feeling that Germany was literally rearming from nothing. So id say start dissent at 30 or 35 instead of 40 and maybe give Germany 5 to 10 additional IC.

Ideas for events

It was a fact that Belgium was in a formal Alliance with France from 1920 till Oct 14 1936 When after The French Signed the Anglo Soviet Pact Which the German used as there pretext to Remilitarize in 1936 (Hitler Originally planned to do so in 1937). IMO Belgium should start off as part of the Allies at the Beginning of the game but after the Franco-Soviet pact and the Reoccupation of the Rhineland should have an event deciding weather to Stick with France of return to neutrality which they did Historically.

Also alot of the German Government was against Remiltarizing the Rhineland in 1936 because they were too weak Militarily and there should be a possibility that the French would counter the German move with some of the Division at the border. Germany would then either back down, Which Guderian told French politicians after ww2, would have met and end to Hitler as a national leader enabling act or no.

Next I dont know if the event chains have it but if Germany chooses to go ahead and invade Czechoslovakia in Munich Treaty there should be a Generals revolt against Hitlers Rule.

Also I think it would be good if there was the Anglo German Naval agreement of 1935 which upon signing ment the Britain was abandoning the Treaty of Versailles and and Allowing the German to ignore it at least at Sea. Relation between Britain and France, and Italy soured because of it the french regarded it as treachery. I think it would be good for flavoring and in lowering of dissent. Even though t realistaclly the German couldn't begin to meet the 35:100 ratio before 1942 was irrelevant it was a largish crack in Versaille.

I also noticed in the '33 scenario that the US pretty quickly changes from free market to central planning with the New Deal programs. Now those programs did introduce some regulation but to compare it as the same as the Soviet economic model is a bit of a stretch IMO. You could just give US 1 or 2 hits to Central Planning not have it jump all the way to 10 like that. And it doesn't make sense that the AI in US and pretty much every other country on earth loves to hit the slider move to central planning regardless of form of government or starting ideology. I've never seen a single country try to move to Free Market in any of my games in any scenario.

Unfortunately, the way the game decisions are now set up, free market is no longer useful. Free market is now like a penalty. CP nations can directly increase their TC, their research speed(to ridiculous levels), and can directly buy IC. The ai is actually acting intelligently by moving to cp considering the game effects of so doing.

For France I would have some events like Communist / Monarchist / Fascist takeovers. The French politics were a mess in the 1930s with elections and all kinds of coalitions, it is a small miracle that they even had a democratic government. For instance a small civil war would not be that crazy. Also if Germany turns communist, indeed the neighbours should see some reactions (I think that the Netherlands and Belgium would align even quicker to the Allies), France would be faced with a massive choice, either embracing communism as well (and thus starting some kind of civil war (with this events for both sides to support) or moving authoritarian / monarchist (Action Francaise etc.)

One could also think that Poland would fall earlier when wedged between allied Communist Germany and Soviet Union, or a more massive Balkan alliance would break this habit...(little Entente and such)

I don't completely agree. FM gives huge bonuses (I prefer FM instead of CP, given the game rules), you can basically spawn an army in no time. But, on the other hand, keeping such an economical system costs, you cannot get advantages in other fields (like research or TC) because you don't decide, but it's the market. However economic decisions aren't balanced, FM and CP are opposite and they can't bring to the same decisions in economic matters. I intend CP as the government takes all decisions in everything there's money, from research to economic development policies. Whilst with a FM system the private initiative is the core of the economy.

Actually I think it's just a matter of terminology: "invest on infrastructures" is good for CP, for FM the same decision could sound like "Lower taxes of public interest works", but ofc it cannot imply a CP move since it's more like a market deregulation, so a FM move.

Add in a possible 'anti-Nazi' coup?, I think one was planned in 1933.

For Italy, an event regarding the dissolution of Paris-based Anti-Fascists in 1934 (relationship of European Democracies with Italy +5, dissent -10% - because anti-fasist propoganda spread in France and Allies reduced.)
