Unlike previous games, the Domain limit is quite variable. Domain Limit can varry greatly, with Spouses Stewartship Contribution, Mental Break Traits and Particular Lifestyle Traits/Skills. This is a problem in both direcitons:
- If you are over the limit, granting a holding to a vassal, is a rather "permanent" thing. They and other vassals will be annoyed if you want it back.
- Meanwhile if you are under the limit, you can not get anything for it without taking it from a vassal. Wich again, will have people peeved.
- Stuff gets even weirder if you conquer as a tribal. As you tend to own the stuff directly.
I got two solutions, that should cover both cases:
1. Name Caretaker. You can name a Caretaker for a Holding. This is *not* granting the title. This could be a special Government form, similar to what City Holders get. You can always take it back, no questions asked.
The downside would be a absolute abysmal Tax and Levy contribution from the Caretaker. Something around the Minimum for Vassals, maybe even less.
You should always be able to make a Caretaker a Vassal or vice versa (with the later one being counted like removing the title).
2 "Well Managed" Bonus for being below the limit. You just take the penalties from being over Domain Limit, invert them and cut them down. So if you are 1 Holding below limit, you get a +5% or +10% to Levy Size and Tax Revenue. I would asume this Domain limit caps out around 11, and even that would only give you a +50%/+100% of 1 Counties contribution. No abuse potential that I can see.
This would make both cases manageable, without all that Pesky Tyranny and whatnot.
