Is this a Bug or WAD ?

After a faction war to claim my throne for one of my sons, i imprisoned the faction members and my son , but after releasing them only my son lost the "-50 imprisoned" malus and gained the "+10 released from prison".
All other faction members remained with the "imprisoned" malus after being released, even several months later while getting the "released from.." bonus as well.
Are they mad that they had been imprisoned once, while my son is just happy ?

Did you ransom them or did you release them?

If you ransomed your prisoners they are not released free on charges and will retain their negative imprisoned opinion penalty.

I'd swear that i had released them, not ransomed them. Might try again in this game. Good tip to check my sanity again. ;)

imo they really should loose the imprisoned opinion penalty even on a ransom release. First, the name doesn't make sense, the person is no longer imprisoned. Therefore it is linguisticaly confusing. Second, the penalty is just as big as when they ARE in prison. I'd be happier if I was out of prison despite a ransom penalty rather then still in there facing almost certain death of boredom.

It should be replaced with a ''fined by liege'' opinion penalty or something.

Tried it again with imprisoned Dukes after a faction revolt.

Both were regularly released and held on to the imprisoned malus.
So the question remains, Bug or WAD ?

Seems to be WAD, I see no mention in the code of eliminating this opinion modifier.

Whats more funny is that the merciful opinion is only +20 and last 5 years, while the imprisoned opinion is -50 and last 10 years.

Just ransom whoever it is unless you cannot afford the -30 opinion from that particular person.

Not in the code ? Well then..sucks. Why should i release him and ransoming an Earl or Duke is not worth it.
They should be grumpy when i ransomed them, but when i released them without conditions, shouldn't they be more grateful, especially when i havent ripped them off some land ?

What do you mean with the merciful opinion ?
I cant remember having seen this and -30 ? Its -40 with the +10 for being released.
Anyway, thanks for checking. :)
