One thing ive noticed, is that the new patch has rulers released on the end of a war. But it doesnt release him if you are an ally in the war not the leader.
So if you have a character in prison as an ally in a war against him, he stays in prison. And you can auto-win any war against him just by joining it as he is still in your prison.
And in my latest game in support of one war of independence, i took the Emperor prisoner. And then after that every time a war started against the empire, all i had to do was ask to join the war of whoever was fighting the emperor, and they would instantly win. As i still had him in prison.
It seems like a bug.
