I believe it’s a bug.I granted a dynasty member a county with a rune stone from our dynasty. Red warning text came up saying he was not a dynasty member, granted him county and saw the runestone still active.
oh yeah dude its absolutely a bug, pdx admitted themselves it was a bug in.... one of the pinned threads i think. the issue is if deleting the runestones also makes them not count towards the achievement anymore

The achievement counts all runestones your dynasty made throughout the campaign. Looking around the map I would only see 5-10 runestones up from my dynasty at any point in time. I got the achievement while at war so a dynasty member other than me raised the 100th one!
How long take you to make this achievement?

I don't know, but it's possible that bug might make the achievement easier. Because the sooner the runestone clears the sooner that dynasty member might put up one of their own.
But if the runestone (made by "you") is gone, you lose one, it wont be easier. This bug erase your own runestones
The achievement is for erecting a 100, not having 100 at the same time. Assuming the bug doesn't also go and delete the runestone from what ever object paradox is using as the counter, then it removing runestones from the map shouldn't effect the achievement (or might possibly help, though reading @SoloSupreme comment it sounds like it's not actually deleting anything)
The achievement counts all runestones your dynasty made throughout the campaign. Looking around the map I would only see 5-10 runestones up from my dynasty at any point in time. I got the achievement while at war so a dynasty member other than me raised the 100th one!
I took a look in the game files and can happily confirm that it does not hinder the achievement. :) The number of stones raised is stored in a variable in the dynasty, and it is only ever changed to increase it when a new runestone is raised. :)

(If anyone wants to confirm this for themselves the variable is named "saga_in_stone_achievement_tally" :) )

It appears in two files under the common folder. I can't recall their exact names atm as Paradox created brand new files for a lot of Northern Lords DLC content, and both those files are new.

My recommendation would be to add the common and events (events is not relevant here, but often is) folders to the Windows search index, and then just search for "saga_in_stone_achievement_tally" :)

(If you're not running Windows then use whatever features that OS has to search files; such knowledge is beyond me, though. :) )

What if you just deliberately kept low learning characters as you'll be the norse culture head
Easier said than done unless you want to detract from the fun IMO, but it can probably be done. Or just stay tribal and you'll never move past the tribal era. :)

I don't like this solution but this is what Korean players like to use
1. Create a player with an only son.
2. Raise runestone.
3. Use tyranny and surrender to change your character to son.
4. Raise runestone.
5. Use tyranny and surrender to change your character to your father.
6. Repeat 2~5

The orthodox way I think is conquering and granting titles to your families.

Checking the number of raised runestone is kinda illegal but if you like to look here it is
1. Backup your save
2. Run game in debug mode and load savefile
3. Save savefile.
4. Open your savefile with something like notepad++ and look for 'saga_in_stone_achievement_tally'
5. identity/1000 is the number you're looking for.

I believe it’s a bug.I granted a dynasty member a county with a rune stone from our dynasty. Red warning text came up saying he was not a dynasty member, granted him county and saw the runestone still active.
Yes it's a bug in the text. It doesn't actually removes the runestone. Saw it in a lionheart stream and then encountered it myself. I can confirm that the runestone was still there eventhough I got the warning it would be destroyed.

Try playing for Norwegian wood in eu4
LOL!

In EU4 I only try to play in a plausible world, within the real capabilities of a polity of the times, with many internal management dilemmas and an healthy dose of political intrigue... no achievements for me as I obviously play the game heavily modded! ;)

1. Go to My Documents > Paradox > CK3 > Savegames and make a backup of your ironman play
2. Open the game with the debug mode (-debug_mode), open the savegame and save it again (well its an ironman so just click go to menu or close the game)
3. Now open the ironman using Note++, Visual Studio or similars
4. Search 'saga_in_stone_achievement_tally' and you will find a number like "identity/n" (N is Number)
5 Remove the debug command, launch the game and load the backup

I have "identity=17000" so how much this mean?
EDIT: Probably you need to divide it by 1000, so nice. I have 999 year, and I played with Ragnarr dynasty, and NO ONE build a runestone XD

That means 29 runestones?

If that's the case, AI sucks because I'm around 1115 with dynasty members being landed since the start

Well I'm using the phone right now I can't search the correct post sadly (or maybe this is the correct post and this is a repost lol)

AFAIK, the AI will check the runestone event every 3 years and then, there is a 50% to actually make one runestone, so it's kinda... Meh

There is a easy way, bored, but if you are a "achievement hunter", just watch this video

And yes, identify is N/1000

Yes, Im achievement hunter and this is the only one Im missing.

I read the odds they can raise it and it feels it should be higher than 50%. Im doing the method in the video and although it's quite boring when Im done I can enable mods again so I'll endure.
