Saga in Stone
As any one dynasty, commission a hundred rune stones

Sounds easy......but your Dynasty/Family members never commission runestones even when they own land. I gave my son at the age of 18 land and had the land culture and faith converted to mine and never once in his life did 1 runestone. You have to wait 10 years to do 1 measly runestone and you and dynasty need to commission 100 together of this in it's lifetime.

Just wondering if anyone else is this getting this issue and if anyone knows and good tricks to getting this achievement.

It's really not raising runestones forever problem or being norse, it's one of the requirements of if you want to do it yourself and waiting 10 years to commission one runestone and your landed dynasty members not commissioning them ever in their lifetime. I mean of course having to be norse allows you to make the runestones but yeah but that's not the problem.

You can no longer raise runestones once you hit the High Medieval era, I believe.

The AI has to have a solid chunk of change. Its short_term_gold has to be at least 100, and then there's a 50% chance that they'll do it that is checked every three years.

I know the AI budgets some of its gold for short-term needs and some for long-term needs, but I have no idea how that is done I'm afraid. :(

I think I'm going to wait for them to patch a fix for it at this point. Like they just don't raise the runestones ever. It's more common to see random counts around my area putting more runestones which they as well 98% they don't even.

Some people already got the achievement, so its "working as intended" but it is not an easy one.

You can ignore the 10 years cooldown if you kill your character, so basically you need to create 2-3 runestones per character : for example, lets say "Viking A" : You start as Viking A, build a runestone 'cause your father/mother/whatever is dead (+1). Then you will wait 10 years, wait for your heir to be older (until 16, so you can win 2 wars and build almost 2 runestones) , kill yourself , play as Viking B an repeat. Three runestones per character more or less.

Sadly i don't know if this "event" disappears when you hit the High Medieval era

EDIT :

The easiest way probably is :

  1. Go and create a new character, OLD A.F. and one or two sons
  2. Win a war (use your priest, invent the casus belli) and create your first runestone. If you cant 'cause you are weak or your character died too son, restart the ironman.
  3. Try to die ASAP.
  4. Now you are controlling the second gen. Create your second runestone, wait 10 years, win a war and get your third runestone.
  5. Your heier should be 16 y'old more or less, win a new war, create your fourth runestone.
  6. Try to die ASAP
  7. Now you are controlling your third generation, repeat step 4.

Just had the achievement pop for me in 1117. All I can really say to help earn it is to land only members of your dynasty as much as you can. I’m 6 years away from unlocking high medieval so I’ll be able to check if decision disappears.

Can confirm decision disappears at high medieval. That means this is also timed!

dont suppose anybody knows if the bug that destroys runestones even when you grant them to your own dynasty members affects this at all?
IDK, but that bug is a pain in the ass. Cant give a title to my son cause the runestone will be destroyed, for some reason. Nice. The only wait is with the "inherit way"

I don't know, but it's possible that bug might make the achievement easier. Because the sooner the runestone clears the sooner that dynasty member might put up one of their own.

But if the runestone (made by "you") is gone, you lose one, it wont be easier. This bug erase your own runestones

I believe it’s a bug.I granted a dynasty member a county with a rune stone from our dynasty. Red warning text came up saying he was not a dynasty member, granted him county and saw the runestone still active.

The achievement is for erecting a 100, not having 100 at the same time. Assuming the bug doesn't also go and delete the runestone from what ever object paradox is using as the counter, then it removing runestones from the map shouldn't effect the achievement (or might possibly help, though reading @SoloSupreme comment it sounds like it's not actually deleting anything)

The achievement counts all runestones your dynasty made throughout the campaign. Looking around the map I would only see 5-10 runestones up from my dynasty at any point in time. I got the achievement while at war so a dynasty member other than me raised the 100th one!
