Not sure if this is related, but I had a really frustrating experience lately...

I was trying to take Borneo from Sumatra. Eventually I realized I didn't have enough troops to do it, so I withdrew back to my island to regroup. Yet the AI insisted on putting my troops back in transport and going back to Borneo, this ended up costing me two divisions that got caught by the British navy. Very frustrating, and there were no battle plans of any kind, or front lines, so why is it doing that?
