My industry was causing huge amounts of traffic from importing and exporting industrial freight causing most of my commerce to go abandoned from freight not making it on time.

I then decided to just import all goods only. I dezoned all industry and traffic cleared up instantly. Then I noticed commerce wasn't growing. I looked at my import/exports and see it was at just below 13k. It was around 30 before I dezoned industry.

I've been rerouting roads, adding freeways, etc. trying to get goods delivered to commerce in a timely fashion, but to no avail. The majority of my commerce is abandoned and I have 65% unemployment, but new commerce complains about no goods to sell and abandons almost as fast as it's rebuilt.

Is this a known issue? I was getting above 13k before, but that was with multiple freight being imported. Maybe it's a limit for a single freight item?

Anyone know a work around or maybe a mod that bypasses this limit.

ps, I'm new to the stream interface and I can'r figure out how to post a game save. Can someone post how to post a save game here?

I don't think the game wants you to give up on industry. I guess there might be a cap on direct-to-commercial imports to discourage you from doing this. Think of it as trying to enforce a healthy balance of trade on your city.

By the way, cargo trains are an absolute godsend for relieving a city of freight traffic.

but sadly my resources run out quickly and have to import everything. That's just way too much traffic for the simulator to handle. Is was already at like 25k/35k import exports. I got exports down to under 5k, but imports started rising and think it near 35k before I started having issue of commerce abandonment from no goods to sell. That's when I thought I'd switch to import only and rezoned my industry to offices.

These are what is causing me issues. Trucks are flying in and out of them so fast it backs up traffic across the city. I have over a dozen of them placed all over the map.

I'm thinking now that I hit some kind of limit and it has broken the imports. I've been trying to bring back industry and it is having zero affect on my commerce. and imports are still just below 13k.
