Well, that is a point of view, but neither the history or OT can be defined "relevant to Paradox interactive". Most people interested in history will be interested by OT too, and vice versa. Also, the Magicka people might not be interested in History.
Will we get more exact dates and times as things draw closer?

i dont think i have a separate paradox account so i take it i will ahve to create one and then merge them? also im assuming there are instructions on hw to merge them.
Is there any way for us to check whether our account is already merged? Because I can't see any option anywhere to merge. :unsure:

Log in using Paradox Account, if you can't, you probably do not have a Paradox account, but then you log in using normal forum account.
You need to create Paradox account, if you want to merge.
But logging in with the PDX accout doesn't confirm you have merged? Or does it?

Very happy to hear that the forums are going to be switching over to Xenforo. Everything I've heard from ex-vB folks who have switched over have been incredibly positive, and I was actually surprised that Paradox hadn't been one of those to switch over given the platform is supposed to be better for modding and altering. Looking forward to see what you guys do with it!
Good to hear! Most of the forums I frequent use Xenforo, using the search function here in particular is extremely frustrating in comparison.
Well post count tends to give you another indicator as to how much experience with Paradox and Paradox games a member has. Obviously this cannot be used as the only measure, you may be an expert player that mainly lurks, or a bad player that likes to participate in discussions.
As an Aside: posts in the Staff forums don't count either or my count would probably be double.
You will only be able to log in to the new forums with a Paradox account.
When you do if there is no forum name associated with that account yet, then it will prompt you with the name of one that is the same e-mail as what you used with your Paradox account, otherwise it will ask if you have one and what the name of it is. At that point it will complete the merge for you. This is identical to the process for merging the accounts now.
Also as indicated we will be transition this forum to that account system before the transition to the new forums.
Once you merge accounts the forum will no longer allow you to log in with your forum account, you will need to login with the Paradox account which uses your e-mail address.(Don't worry no one can see the e-mail address, most regular users of the forum have already merged their accounts and their posts appear no different.
So if you are logging in with your forum name then you have not merged your account.
We have been modding the programs back end for almost a year.
So a lot of the components are written by us and not the default Xenforo ones.
Although mostly backend stuff like the Accounts integration, so should not be many front end differences if you are used to other Xenforo based systems.
But yes the idea is that this is a much more solid foundation on which to build new features on.
Once it has been up and running for a while and you have had a chance to test it, I will setup a suggestion thread on new features you guys would like to see added.
