Hi all,

Arheo here with some news about Hearts of Iron IV’s development on Microsoft Store. In the near future (exact date under discussion with Microsoft), Hearts of Iron IV will no longer be sold nor updated through the Microsoft store.

Why are we doing this?

We are doing this because it allows us to best utilize our resources supporting the platforms on which the vast majority of Hearts of Iron IV players are present.

What happens to existing customers?

For our Microsoft players I understand that this is likely to be a disappointment. We consider it our duty to ensure that alternative arrangements are made for everyone who owns Hearts of Iron IV, DLCs, or content packs on Microsoft. This is something we’re actively working to resolve - we'll let you know as soon as we have anything to share.

As a final note, I’d like to point out that each studio and game at Paradox has significant autonomy in defining its own strategy: this action is not indicative of a company-wide decision.

Hi all,

As promised, I'm back with some more info on this topic: We're currently working to set up a framework by which existing Microsoft Store customers will be able to redeem single-use Steam product keys for every Hearts of Iron IV product they own on Microsoft. These will be provided at no cost.

All our Microsoft customers will receive further information on how to go about redeeming these once the framework is set up.

Thank you for working on the replacement, you just saved my wallet

What if I already own HOI4 and some of its Expansions on Steam already? Will I get a refund instead of a Steam product key?

The best solution for this, thank you!

You know.... sometimes I consider myself lucky on where I'm born.
Its peaceful kind of....and i mostly enjoy life.
But i also consider myself curse....
Reason?
Steam doesn't support payment on where I'm at...and I can't use vpn since its illegal on steam..( Fricking got a Hoi4 disc with a code that i can't use since i think i can only redeem it in germany??)
Also tried to buy on paradox store but that also failed...
Man, i was glad when Microsoft work...
But...seeing as you guys will prob give us hoi4 steam codes I'll see how it goes...

Is there any chance you could please fix the achievements for the recently released HoI4 DLCs on Microsoft Store before you move on from it? See my post history for the many bug reports - the same glitch is in EU4 (now fixed), Stellaris and HoI4 where unlocking newer achievements is recognised in game but doesn’t trigger the associated Microsoft achievement. Looks like a very simple coding fix.

Achievements have been broken for the last two DLC's (as well as one base game achievement) on the Xbox PC App/Microsoft store version for several months now.

Will these also not be fixed/patched given no new updates to the game?

100% agree, would hate to have a never completable game on my profile.
