Franjkish strenght

BTW, Francia is overpowered. They need more destabilising, hindering events. I could just walk through the Omajiden-Kaliphat without serious resistance.
I see how that that can easily happen for Francia, having its overwelming size and power.
If wilhelm wants I can look at and add events for Francia to weaken them some, make it more challenging to rule. After all the only reason the cvast Frankish Empire held together such as it did is because of Charlemagne's force of will and overpowering skill and persona. Once he was gone, the vast Frankish empire, while strong was far too large for its extremely primitive and localized infastructure and economy.
Ideas are:
Pippen III
- Aquitaine's rebellious nature against Pippen and Charlemagne (if it isn't independent at the time)
- Brittany's rebellious nature (if under Frankish rule).
Charlemagne
- Same as above.
- Saxony was an extremely hard nut for Charlemagne to crack, perhaps through events we can simulate that.
- Vikings. They started they raids in Charlemagne's reign (although just small scale).
- Internal rebillions and instabilty due to the vast size of Francia.
- The Umayyads. They may only control part of Spain but their society was far more advanced.
Under Charlemagne's son Louis the Pious we can have all sorts of bad things happen. Part of which is due to the fact that Louis was nowhere as good of a ruler as his father.
-- Large scale internal rebellions: Aquitaine, Brittany, Saxony, Lombardia, Burgandy, Bavaria..
-- Large scale Viking raids.
-- Events reflecting poor leadership abilities.
Of course after this to wars between his sons begin (more massive rebellions). Eventually in 843, the Frankish Empire breaks apart.
