Just something that has bugged me a little in EU3 is the Imperial mapmode. Not necessarily as big an issue as Portuguese, Castillan, and French North Africa, or the fact that Portuguese North Africa is known as Portugal, but a thought I'd been having for a while. To me, the Imperial mapmode does seem a little underwhelming, and is practically useless when playing outside Europe. Couldn't more be done with it, for other nations which feature special mechanics?
Admittadly, the mapmode does actually have a purpose. To view at a glance which nations are HRE. This does in fact give a partial justification as to why it is featured on the main menu. However, couldn't a little more be done with it? Could it also be used, with perhaps a red colour, to map which are Feudal Japanese nations? This would give a much greater use to the map, which does seem redundant when not playing in Western Europe. If we add in a tributary system for Ming, and later, Qing, yellow could be used.
Just a couple of thoughts. The mapmode does have use, but I really find it should expand on its practicality. After all, it is the only mapmode with a real possibility of becoming useless in games, due to the ability to reform the HRE into a single, centralised state.
