When you reform the Roman Empire as the Byzantine Empire you can no longer equip the Imperial Diadem. This seems like a bug or an oversight, but seeing as it has been this long, I'm wondering why both emperors can't wear it.

Confirmed not to be a bug -- there have been a few threads on this already. Roman Emperors get a laurel wreath for their headgear, based on the Augustus trait. Imperial Diadem is intended only to apply to the Byzantine Emperor.

The two hardly seem equal, considering the 1.5 Prestige/Piety and 4 stewardship vs the .50 prestige and 10 vassal opinion. Unless the Vassal Opinion is meant to be the deciding factor. Either way I'd think that a direct bonus to score/+10 Prestige bonus depending on your prestige, and the 4 stewardship that increases taxes may be better. Seems like a bit of a downgrade.

Personally I agree with the diadem no longer applying, but I think there should be some sort of “make imperial regalia” decision that makes new stuff for a Roman. Maybe like a purple toga giving diplo and a golden laurel giving +2 stewardship that way there’s a better bonus but like not the same bonus
