I have been playing with a 2021 imac with a M1 without any problem, although not until the end game. The game runs smoothly and it looks gorgeous in the imac 4.5k retina display.
However, there is a known problem with all macs and any mod that goes beyond certain number of territories will crush your game. Invictus has two versions now, one for mac to avoid this issue.
