I really hope everyone in the Pdx office realizes just how big expectations are, after the huge disappointment Imperator was and still is.

I can forgive bugs and crashes, what I can not forgive is making a boring game with no life in it.

I think they do.

This is obviously not March of Eagles or Sengoku where they abandoned it immediately when those titles didn't do all that well on release. I've been very surprised and impressed by the amount of work they have put in over the last couple years for a rather small playerbase.

Hopefully the 2.0 update turns this saga around, this is one of my favorite time periods and I really want this game to excel and be a commercial success.

Not that I am complaining about ANYTHING. This is ABSOLUITELY WONDERFUL. I love you guys, will buy this and most probably change my Steam review from negative to positive,.

However, just asking; will the update include any changes to Military bonuses? It kindah seems logical to go along with the army and military tech updates...and many tradition bonuses are so baffling. Starting Light Infantry bonuses may be helpful in some cases, but they're doubtfully doing much for Epirus. Also, why would anyone boost LI late-game.

I am not even sure actually how will the Military Traditions go along with this update.
I know that this was a question from some days ago but we've already seen that at least some of the military tradition bonuses have been heavily reworked and since the entire tradition trees have been restructured it seems highly plausible that most or all of the bonuses will be different.

I'm not expecting any of the other military bonuses to be significantly reworked but the traditions are the most important anyway.

Has anyone else noticed how well made the art for this patch is? I for one love the duality of the two pictures.

The "civilized, innocent and beautiful women" being turned into a "Filthy, brutal and uncivilized barbarian".
The servant becoming a fierce rebel against the tyrant.
The second hand of the dictator betraying his dictator on the battlefield in a bid for more power.
The Roman furthest to the left seemingly being the most loyal to his dictator, whilst being the furthest away from power.

Aa I stated previously, I dislike this artstyle. I think the art used previously, such as the teatre scene that they used for menander cultural rework is more fiting for the game. This art for Marius reminds me of R:TW and is clearly an attempt to bring in more casual players that like holywood style aesthetics. If it succedes then I am OK with it but then I want the artwork to return to the more historical immersive aestherics.

I don't know that games you cited, but Imperator Rome for me can't be abandoned, you have the most awesome ancient historical period with Gauls,Rome, Greek, Persians, Carthage, Thracia, Germans, Iberians and many many others.
And you have Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Hannibal, Vercingetorix and many many others Great Generals. Abandoned this game is like saying that your own company is not capable of handle this. Which is totally different from be a success like Crusaders Kings, EU4 or HOI4.

The amount of content that their have to add to this game, the mechanics that they can put on that is huge.

And for me Imperator Rome is better than Stellaris and EU4, sometimes I think, why EU4 don't implement things that I:R has. But we know that are different projects and they were developed in different years.

But I have faith this will be a success as the other is.

Just remember this times were well focused on Political Wars and Battlefields. The wars on that time were hard and decisive.

The Heirs of Alexander content pack includes:

Unique Mission Trees
: New special mission objectives for the Antigonid Empire in Anatolia, Seleucid Empire in Asia, Ptolemaic Empire in Egypt, Macedonia and Thrace.

Does this mean that Egypt is renamed into the Ptolemaic Kingdom/Empire?

I really hope this is true and if so, would it not be nice if the developers also renamed Thrace into the Lysimachid Kingdom/Empire?

Just a thought, this really looks very nice, good work! :)

Not exactly a global holiday is it?
Curious why they are releasing it on a Tuesday after an American holiday although. Why wouldn't they release it on a Monday. We Americans only have a few handful of holidays where we dont work, we dont get to take off months like other countries.

The day when the Celts, Germanics, Dacians, Scythians, Carthaginians, Sarmatians, Iberians, Armenians, and all other non-diadochi Asian realms will be on par in terms of content with the Diadochi and Rome, then Imperator:Rome will be an awesome game. I expect that day to come, but it won't be soon.

Looked like it was instant
It does seem a bit silly to work this way in terms of realism but I think it's probably necessary so that smaller states can effectively defend themselves against unexpected invasions. Smaller states often don't have the geography to be able to have particularly defensible borders to build up with forts. One of those gameplay first considerations.

10 euro is cheaper than i thought. I was expecting 15/20. just 2 weeks away is really nice too, really nice to finally have a date.
I laughed out loud thinking you meant date as in 'going out on a date with a person' as it is too recognizable in these times.
Then I realised you just meant date as in 'when' and now I'm sad.
