So not only are interface and graphics mods not ironman compatible, minor patches now break it as well. Why even put the mode in when you're clearly not interested in making the game support it?
You can actually revert to the previous game version to finish your ironman save if you want. It's not like you have no options. I think it's great that they allow you to revert to previous versions, to be honest. Not all game companies do that.

The interface on the other hand will always have to be checksumed since you can actually alter the game by modifying the interface files in this game. You could theoretically easily make a button to annex all countries in the entire world for instance.
The interface should not be executing such actions, only displaying them and calling them from other files. That it is capable of that shows there was no effort made to keep them separate.

The interface should not be executing such actions, only displaying them and calling them from other files. That it is capable of that shows there was no effort made to keep them separate.
The interface itself doesn't contain the data of what is happening but it does contain the call site. If you can add your own call sites for things that are not checksummed that then means that you can add your own local cheat buttons.

The old style gui did not need checksumming cause you couldn't do anything really as the effects are directly in the code. All you could do was change the appearance of it not the functionality, the new gui system allows for mods to make their own things way more easily as seen by some mods which already have entire new screens and interaction menus up after only a week or so.

To me is seems from an early look that the game is now jerky when panning the map when the the time is not running, whereas it was completely smooth before.
But the bad juddering when panning the map when the timer is on is slightly better.
So overall no net improvement for me.
But I will test it properly tonight.

Edit: Had another look. When I started a new game tit was completely smooth both when time is running and not. Went back to old saved game and the stuttering is there. Looks like you need to start a new game for some reason. Either way well done devs it seems to be fixed for me! Hurray.

this has nothing to do with fertility. they hardcoded a limit to marriages/family to head of family +1, so only 2 ppl/family marry, which makes it really hard to keep the tree growing

But if this was working as intended, families wouldn't die out. They'd survive through their primogeniture line. THey'd never grow huge, but they wouldn't go extinct after 50-100 years.

Nice, just run it. Does it produce a report or something ?

That's not broken. The functionality isn't there, which is entirely different. I agree, embarking from port was really nice in EU4 for example.
Sorry dude, but if you think that not being able to embark your army while the navy's in port isn't complete bullsh*t, than I dont know what will make you annoyed.
This is such a BASIC thing, that I just can not, under any circumstances understand how they WOULD NOT include this from day 1.

This is a QoL feature, it's not something that absolutely has to be in the game. I'm fine without it being in the game, sure it's slightly annoying, but it's not something that is that important.

Like I said, I would like this to be in also. And I would imagine this is the kind of stuff that they'll add for free in a patch.

im not saying its working or making sense. im just saying that it hasnt anything to do with fertility. the implemented hardcap makes little to no sense besides maybe limiting "overpopulation" (and that only if it would work as intended). if you get only girls or the 20yo guy marries a 60yo lady, the family is doomed.

I mean i should've known better, playing a Paradox early access game on ironman.. but it still makes me angry that i was dumb enough to wait for the next ingame month to resolve the issues, before checking the forum that i shouldn't have downloaded this patch at all.

Are only starting capitals forts created for free, or still when the capital moves? So in a civil war, if I capture the enemy capital, and the province automatically flipps to me, and a new rebel capital is selected. Does the new captial also get a free building slot and a fortbuilding spawned, with its ZoC?

Or do you mean with free only from a money standpoint?

The new capital does not get a new fort.

You can actually revert to the previous game version to finish your ironman save if you want. It's not like you have no options. I think it's great that they allow you to revert to previous versions, to be honest. Not all game companies do that.
If you figure out that you shouldn't download a patch (!), before you unpause and it saves the game again.
