I would like to join the dissatisfied club. The roles of the POPs don't make sense in the context of ancient world and I don't really see why it couldn't be changed to better reflect reality.
you mean, that the way pops are implemented or the pop concept? The roles of the POPs don't make sense in the context of ancient world and I don't really see why it couldn't be changed to better reflect reality.
What is not fitting is the specific role. Patricians giving money and freemen giving manpower. This can be shuffled around to bettter fit.you mean, that the way pops are implemented or the pop concept?
because the first option is understendable
the second tho... how could a proper population mechanic not fit in this context?
people existed at the time, so a well flashed-out pop system will ALWAYS be fitting for the time frame.
Freemen are all non roman citizens that are not slaves but also do not have the same rights as true Romans.I was replying to this post:
And I was asking who exactly does "Freemen" represent if it excludes the Plebeians and the Tribesmen.
The Latins?Freemen are all non roman citizens that are not slaves but also do not have the same rights as true Romans.
Maybe.The Latins?
The Latins?

It is however a very good game design decision because it make all pops needed. If I recall, people criticized that as well in EU:Rome and many a mod actually rectified that?
I hope he meant for this game, because they don't are poor for a game such as vicky.poor for a game
Debating over name is useless, I agree.I think many are reading too much into the pop classes. Citizen, freeman, slave are basically period-appropriate general terms for rich and privileged, regular poor people and slaves. At least that's what EU:Rome said about them in-game. Whether the armies of Rome were manned by patricians, plebeians, equites or their mums I don't think is even remotely taken into account.
To me it looks like a general stratification of society more or less fitting most societies of the period with just that: kind of appropriate general names.
Yes... but that would represent those really complex phenomenoms as flat popupsImperator: Rome pops have religion and Culture so I don't see what you are asking for would not be possible. You just have to change religion with an event or something.
Please don't conflate the most vocal forum members with the majority of customers.
Well let's talk about this "majority of customers". How many are there? What do they think? Do they even care to have an opinion on this game? Do you have stats on the majority of customers? If you do I will change my post but based on the data, the only available data set I have (this forum) my statement hold true pure and simple based on that data set. That is all I mean.
The "silent majority" are just that silent.
You can't claim to be the majority without proof either.Well let's talk about this "majority of customers". How many are there? What do they think? Do they even care to have an opinion on this game?
