anyone else a bit disappointed in the tactics of Rome and Prittania, both seemed to spread themselves too thin, Prittania made a long line of armies to try and siege down provinces as quickly as possible and ended up throwing away men while Rome seemed to split there forces between fronts, I get that Kaiser Johan wanted to use his naval advantage when he invaded Asia Minor but he opened up another front in a war against 4 players, they can be on every front and he cannot
on the other hand I think the Greeks and Dacians coordinated very well, Rome was very lucky to have Parthia intervene when they did.
I just hope this is not a sign that Rome will join the Mesopotamian hugbox as Sidestep has been KJ ally in all the dev clashes so far and I do not think people should pick allies based purely on the person who is playing the nation
Pritannia really had no other choice but to try and quickly occupy, because the players don't have the observer mode we do, or the ledger for that matter. He had to be able to enforce white peace at the earliest possible time, in case one of the other anti-Johan fronts screwed up.
Because if he couldnt enforce peace and the rest of the players peaced out for some reason (like they did because of the black ninja of saxonia sneakily appearing and causing half of the allied army to be pulled back, leaving noone to push into Italy), he would be left in a war against KJ alone, which... well, wouldn't be a good idea. Its easy to say someone played poorly when you essentially know what happens in the future xd.
Imho he did the best thing he could, even looking at it from the perspective of what happened, because if he pushed conservatively, saving up troops and not taking in attrition, he'd not have occupied enough to white peace KJ by the time the Greeco-Dacians ended their war. And he stole a lot of pops through occupation too.
As for KJ... I imagine that trying to look at three fronts at the same time and reacting to sudden changes while not seeing where the enemy armies are moving due to fog of war is pretty hard. So he made a good call too and withdrew his armies back to northern Italy, causing his enemies to take attrtion by occupation while replenishing his manpower, which helped him in the next war which he declared, because he started it at 350k instead of 0. And his enemies were still bled dry due to their attempts to siege him down in the last war.
As for him joining a hugbox, wtf? He is basically stronger than the next 3 strongest players combined at this point, no matter how you look at it. Not to mention he can't even ally anyone because great powers can't due to the game rules. Best he would do is a guarantee to secure his interests but I doubt anyone other than the occasional ninja would actually try and attack someone else in the mediterrenean world while there is a red menace spreading and gobbling up more and more clay.
