Im not sure its cheating, its only a less micro intensive version of the more classic exploit (send a 2 width infantry division, let the enemy fleet intercept that, then send your tanks). Its just poor game design by Pardox, and extremely hard to police through the use of rules. Anyway, both sides can use it and anything that removes focus from the horrible naval game is beneficial in my eyes.Yes I know about this cheat and exploit as well, but unlike you I don't enjoy playing against / with cheaters so we don't have problems such as this in any of my MP groups.
Just for fun, let's say your right about the tanks and can win in 1 week = 168 hours when attacking desert terrain despite a -99% combat penalty from forts.
This means that without the fort when attacking desert terrain your tank division will always defeat a same width infantry division in 2 hours ( since it inflicts 100 times more damage ).
The defending infantry they are fighting are designed by a human player and have full org and full dug in as well, something to keep in mind.
I would LOVE to see your tank divisions which can do that, but sadly they exist only in your fantasy...
Even without CAS, 2 40 width tanks could rout and wipe a theoretical stack of 100 40 width infantry in just a few hours (in the open field). Forts only make it a bit harder. In El Alamein you need CAS support, just enough to fill the air width, and having at least 50% contested air superiority helps as well. With tanks and Von Manstein and the destruction of the fort down to lvl 4 or 5 after about week, it can easily be taken. Assuming the allies cant pierce your tanks.
