ok just wondering, because Im all about refitting mechs, if I reduce the weight of a mech, whereas this is achieved by means of removing armor or even striping some weapons, shouldn't my mechs gain more speed? or in the world of turn based combat, shouldn't they increase the distance they can cover when moving?

which brings me to a second question concerning gravity, does the high/low gravity on planets counts for anything in terms of gameplay? I haven't quite noticed, I was thinking it did , but then It was that it looks like it doesn't...so now Im not sure...

Gravity has no effect. In theory it should have an impact (along with thick vs thin vs non-existent atmosphere) on weapon ranges, but that in one aspect of realism that BattleTech doesn't implement.

Similarly, while you can strip armor, weapons, etc from a mech to the point that it is lighter, it has no effect. Again, in theory, it should, but BattleTech's weight classing system locks a mech to a particular movement profile based on chassis and 'full' configuration.

Along the same lines, in theory, blowing off a torso and an arm should 'lighten' a mech, but it doesn't.

oh I see, it was kind of driving me crazy, I though " planet's temperature does play a role" so I imagined it had to be the same with gravity, a little bit disappointing, hope HBS revises this in the future,but hey thanks for the answer.

The planet's biome plays a role in heat dissipation but that's the only real planet-wide biome effect. Given that most places that mechs fight have 'human-tolerant' gravity, I don't think you would see a huge change in weapon behavior based on the gravity.
