so it looks like with reapers due characters still "age" even while immortal, and females are now once again susceptible to the barren age-limit aswell post-reaper's due

messin' with muh mods paradox >.<

anyone know if age-effects (like the visual model change_ but especially the age-limit on when women can have children, are taken from a .txt somewhere in the game, or is it hardcoded to how they set the game to treat the modifier? because i cant find anyway to make immortality work more similarly to pre-Reapers (because its messing with my mythology mods yo)

Wait, the immortal characters are real?
If you have the "fantasy content" toggled on and The Reaper's Due activated, your character might go on a quest for everlasting life and actually become this. AI will never do that, and immortality doesn't prevent you from a violent demise.

This shouldn't happen. Paradox said that the immortal characters don't age visually and are not affected by old age modifiers. Report it in the bug forum.

It didn't even happen before the expansion. As a modder who used the trait a lot, I can say the Immortal trait code has been buried in CKII for a while now. Paradox simply needed a way to use it, hence the optional fictional events. I can confirm my characters did not age visually with that trait, even in the Immortal trait's prior form.

If the trait truly doesn't work, the only explanation I can think of is Paradox somehow broke it, but that would seem odd considering it worked before and they made it a point to mention its inclusion in dev diaries.

If you activated supernatural events... yes.

I understand it fell under the supernatural option but I thought it would have just been something like the "hell hole" event chain.

I haven't analysed the code, but from what I can tell most ends of the event chain don't lead to immortality, but on the rare ocoasion it's as supernatural as the Devil Spawn's limb regeneration was.

yeah and imma have to report it in the bug section once im home from work

several of my mods that depended on the immortal trait for some event chains and decisions involving special NPCs busted, especially with females not being able to give kids after 45 :/, tried using the new immortal trait aswell after the old modifier wasnt working and it still behaved weird

hope the "new" function wasnt intentional, because it doesnt seem very "immortal" now

Well, my ruler and another courtier are immortals and they haven't aged yet. By the way, OP, did you acquire the trait in the Ruler Designer? For some reason it doesn't work if you add it through the designer.

no, added the trait with console, both with the custom traits in the modded games, aswell as in the clean-games for testing using the vanilla trait. in all games characters still grew old, and in the instance of one where i played female to test fertility, 60 years at 90% fertility with a husband lover at 85% fertility produced 0 offspring (both were immortal triggered at 16, both also still aged graphically)

nvm, think i found the problem, apparently if characters are under 16 when the immortal trait is given, it doesnt prevent graphical changes as they get progressively older, i guess because of the forced change at 16?

guess ill just have to put in a maturity event in the mod to assign the trait to the right people when they come of age :/

I hadn't thought of that. I always would give it to generated spawned characters age 16+. Good to know.

Edit: Btw, in the event you assign the trait, just add a pre-trigger saying
min_age = 16

Problem solved.
