Don't dictatorships have something like "emergency re-elections"? Or is that oligarchy-only thing?

If worst comes to worst, you can declare a war on FE and then surrender. They will execute your current leader (if you aren't a gestalt) and so you will be able to get a new rules. At the cost of 10 years of reduced happiness and influence gain.

Console comnand : kill_ruler
Or you can use the debugtooltip command and the trait ID ( you will find everything on the Wiki) to remove the trait from your ruler.

Arrested développement is the most annoying, garbage negative trait in the game. It should never be applicable to rulers for empire like Hivemind or any Gestalt, but guess what, this oversight exist for years abd has never been addressed.

He said he is synthetic so removing it for hivemind or gestalts would not fix the problem.

I taught OP played as machine Gestalt, doesn't change the fact that arrested development is total garbage ;)
Nah, he said Synthetic Evolution, which makes your leaders immortal but still lets them keep their individuality.

If it were me in this situation, I'd just let the FE whack them.

You could:

• Join a federation
• Work to make it a challenge based succession
• Get killed in the arena

At the very least, it would be an amusing role play - an immortal dictator who is desperately trying to end their life of mediocrity through combat trials (and failing)

It will cost you a lot of influence, but you can reform your government to an Oligarchy, initiate a snap election, then choose a new leader instead of risk letting the moron stay in power. This will of course knock you down a total of 650 influence (250 for reform, 200 for snap election, 200 for picking new leader). You can reduce the cost by picking Shadow Council during reform so that you "only" spend 500 total of course, because swapping back to Dictatorial will cost you another 250.

Unless OP is playing as a F. Authoritarian.

Yes, that would leave them no choice but to suicide the twit on an FE.
Or to go the stupidly expensive route of
1. Ethics change down to regular Authoritarian. (500 influence I think, or maybe 250).
2. Then do the long government shift process. (500 or 650 influence).
3. Then switch back. (250 influence).

I dont recommend that option.

And that requires you to have popular support for a faction that will knock you down to moderate Authoritarian, something you can't directly control or shift in a timely manner.
