Immersion Packs

So, I'm starting my first game of sots2 after having shelved it while waiting for it to be feature complete. As I'm setting up my game I'm looking at the Immersion Pack versions of several of the race's ships and notice that some ships look better in their non-immersion versions (Tarka and Suul'ka Horde, imho). If I were to use these races in the game as their non-immersion versions for aesthetic reasons, is there anything I would be missing out on? Do these packs add anything other than the ship appearance that is inaccessible if you do not choose the immersion pack version of a race?

Immersion packs simply include alternate ship textures and different voices. Don't judge the tarka texture too poorly, it doesn't have a good showing on CRs but DNs and LVs look great with scales.

Are the immersion packs even available for download anymore? Steam doesn't list them as available content.

I think everyone gets them for free now. But i am not 100% sure about that.

Unless the dev's changed something. But from what Ive googled for, the immersion packs do NOT seem to be sold separately anymore.

I googled for a good half hour and all I could find on immersion packs anywhere was the Takkas and Hiver pack at Gamer's gate for $2.99. No others were found.

Can they be made available, either for purchase for open download?
I waited for the game to get mostly fixed before purchasing. Well, that and my new gaming rig.

What I meant to say is that I believe that the immersion packs are freely available for everyone who buys the standard game. You can wait for another poster who has recently purchased the game to confirm this OR go to the developer site, google for kerberos productions and ask there. The dev's there will be able to confirm to.

My opinion is that you should be able to get the immersion packs for free after what was the ...... release! They were made freely available to everyone at that point.
The point I was trying to made about them not being available for sale (there are no packs on Gamers Gate UK at all). So that looks like they just arent sold separately anymore.

You have it right 2Coats, immersion packs no longer for sale, now part of the game by default. This was confirmed by both Paradox and Kerberos some time ago (Jan/Feb) I believe.

I think you misunderstand - the original plan was to have them for free until Nov 30, that has changed however and now anyone who buys the game gets them for free. I didn't purchase the game until March of this year and I got the immersion packs for free [I also got something called Horde DLC].

There is nothing to misunderstand. Compare the price bevor Nov 30. and now. Than you will understand why i say thx you. Good to know for the next offer like that.
