Ok.. a while back something changed in a patch that mix and match feudal and tribal just does not work. You get no armies from the castles, and if you swap over to make a tribal settlement, it seems like it is even worse than the ones that start of being tribal.
I have been trying for months now to figure out how to take over a feudal holding, and give it away to someone in my family, and even freeing them so they are no longer under my rule, but still nothing. They just stay tribal and don't go feudal. (i have not tried it on a holding with no open slots) But no mater what i have done i can't seam to give away a feudal holding to a family and let um stay feudal.
Case in point, I am in Ireland and created Mumu for example, my wife had a claim to press on cornwall. I press it, and she takes over, and now she is a feudal lord, and i am the same level, but tribal. Now when i died, the son took over, and his mother still ruled.. Cornwall is still feudal and working as normal. Now she dies, and i take over and poof, major reduction, can't build troops ect.. How can i get this holding working back as a normal feudal holding?
I have tried lots of things, passing it on to someone else... setting them free, but they just stay tribal, even if i have no control over it as we are the same level. I have tried to do this as a king as well and the same issue. Is there anyway that you can get the feudal holdings into your family dynasty if you are tribal and not get the major penalties?
Do you have to have the highest tribal level perhaps? Or is it impossible, because for months now i have been trying to mix and match them and I've had zero luck.. I have no problem if i leave them under different families rule, aka another dynasty, but as soon as i try to bring it under mine that is where the issues occurs.
does this make sense? any thoughts?
