I'm researching tanks but I get an error main armarent how can I fix this?

Can you post a screenshot of the situation/error message you get? I have troubles to image the problem (the title says that you research, while the message sounds that you try to design something)

You need to create a variant of the tank. What you show is only the chassis: add modules like engine, armament and turret and save it with your XP points.

You've researched a tank hull but now you need to go and design a tank model to produce. Click on the icon at the far right and it will open the tank designer.

Is that ok? You first click on the button next to the chassis you want to use:
Then you pick armament, turret and maybe some other options (not mandatory): here the game is saying that the armament is inadequate, so I can't use this design
This one however should work: it's a minimal design so the cost is only 1 XP.
Last thing: if you want the chassis or modules to be replaced by better technologies once you research them, tick this option:
And if you don't want to do all the modules selection by yourself, you can click the auto design to do this for you.
