Royal marriages break when one of the rulers die. Not breaking was actually a bug that was fixed in the recent patches. Much better since before people you longer wanted to be a ally would still take up a relationship slot.

RM now always breaks when the ruler of the nation that offered the RM dies.Anybody know why RMs with some will break and others not? Some nations it always broke when their or my ruler died. Others it never seemed to break. Also with RM break even if you re-RM immediately I wonder does it lower your chance of getting your dynasty on their throne?
In EU IV this was never possible. I don't know if it was possible in EU III but I don't think it was either (I could be wrong about EU III though)
