How can I stop this? I have free relation slots and every months many nations send me a proposal for a royal marriage - some of them are already my vassals..

Insult the people proposing to you.
If they're some nobody kingdom from far away, there'll be no consequences. Plus it's fun.
I don't think you can.
Is there a disadvantage to a RM with a vassal? If they are a vassal, they already take up a relation slot, adding a RM won't fill the vacant one.
The AI does not differentiate between player nations and AI nations on normal, which means that the AI thinks that you would accept the offer if you were an AI as the AI will fill up its diplomatic relations and rivals within a month as soon as a spot is free. It will keep spamming you until you fill your diplomatic slots or they no longer want to have a royal marriage (though if you decline an offer from one nation they will not send a similar offer in 5 years if I remember correctly).
Also, as mentioned before, you should probably accept the offers coming from your vassals. It will not take up an extra slot and their opinion of you will increase, making annexation easier down the road.
You should always marry your vassal ASAP. In the long term it also helps to get better heirs OR to be able to replacement a crappy heir (you know having a pool of heirs of 50, 40, 20 years old, etc.)
The best way to preserve a diplomatic slot is to ask for military access to a nation you can't marry with.
BTW, did anyone noticed that in 1.5 RMs tend to break too often? I'm about to fill in a bug report for that.
It didn't happen before this patch, but it can be handy if you wanted to break the marriage anyway.
Thanks for the confirmation. Not sure if it is better than before. At some point in my Ottomans campaign, my legitimacy got below 70 because of that.

Because I am the HRE emperor and my vassals don't cost me a relation slot. If I have a royal marriage with them then they cost me a relation slot. Why would I want to do that?May I ask why you wouldn't want a royal marriage with your vassals?

Yea. I revoked the privilegia and ever since all my new vassals keep spamming me with royal marriage offers. That's a very specific situation I didn't take into consideration. You're referring to enacting the reform that makes everyone your vassal?
That sounds like a good idea. I'll see if that's possible. You can simply disable that alert I think ?

In EU IV this was never possible. I don't know if it was possible in EU III but I don't think it was either (I could be wrong about EU III though)I'm not sure if it still is but it used to be possible to instantly inherit a vassal if you had a RM although chances were pretty bad.
