I'm getting real tired of this

This is the second time the same thing happened to me after 1.29.2 : Game is no longer functional, the EUROPA UNIVERSALIS IV logo shows, then a for a brief second portrait, and without a single hint or loading databases appearing, it stops working and crashes. The launcher itself works just fine, but neither the exe nor the steam versions work

Why? Why again? What more must I do?

That is usually caused by a broken save game. Try to move all your save games to a different folder and test if the game starts then. If it does, you can move your important saves back one by one to see which one crashes the game.
I would be interested to see such a save game, to see if they are all the same(the two that I got contained only NULL-Bytes) or if they maybe can be repaired somehow.
I'd also like to find what might cause these broken save games. If you want to help with that, can you please answer the following questions after you identified which save game was broken:

• do you use any mods(even if they are achievement compatible)?
• was your latest save game broken or an older one?
• was the broken save game iron man?
• if the save game was iron man, did you use the save button from the menu or did you just exit the game? If you exited the game, did you use "exit to menu", "exit game" or alt+f4?
• if the save game was not iron man, was it a compressed save game?
• do you have cloud saves enabled?
• did the game crash the last time that you used it?

Since I am away from my laptop as of now I might as well answer those questions.
1) Yes, GMI and a flag mod, I tried running the game without them, nothing changed. I have roughly 70 others but they've never caused me problems and I haven't used any of them after 1.29.0

2) Since all my previous save files were deleted due to a previous mess, and that the three save files I made were all vanilla ironman, I wouldn't say it was corrupted

3) If a save is broken, it most definitely is Ironman

4) This is notable: due to battery problems with my computer it shut down mid-game, which I guess would classify it as an Alt+F4

5) I have never, ever, compressed a game, and even if I did, It isn't it

6) It was a local file, and I rarely, if ever, use cloud

7) You could call it a crash, yes

EDIT: Alright, I got back and did the save file thing, I don't really care about those old files since I was almost done with them anyway
