I'm finding conflicting stuff. is it worth westernizing.

I heard a lot of mixed information on westernization and I wonder if it's even worth it.

is roughly the size of my empire but I've sense absorbed orissa, assam, and koch.

It's around the year 1600, I have and I have Portugal for a neighbor who was interested in acquiring my things but I took him as a protectorate hoping it would slow him down.

Should I slow down and westernize or am i fine at my current pace of things?

No as long as you keep catching up with the military technology.

In 1.8, it's much more worthwhile than in 1.7.3 since you get much less unrest than you used to get revolt risk, you can just raise autonomy, and the slowest westernization is still five times faster than in 1.7.3.

This means that even larger countries can Westernize at a recent pace.

In your case, it depends on what you want to do. First of all - are you keeping up page in military tech with the Ottomans, France, Spain? If so, there's no real need.
If you aren't, you should know that virtually every country in Europe has a mission to get provinces in India and they will attack you. So you need to be on par with them for military tech.

The wiki wasn't updated until 1.1. Is there an update list of the costs and time. or is it still 2000 MP modified by tech penalty (3000 for india I suppose). I could deal with the unrest pretty easily. So if I'm making 11/8/4 130 months?

I think the costs are the same, in your case 3000 sounds about right. Since you're pretty big you'll only be able to spend 5-6 MP per month on progress, that would mean a duration around 200 months, I think.

You spend a little more than 1000 MP per category, then save 300 MP per category per level after that... How is it 0 profit?

Yes, you can catch up with the western countries without westernizing. But with the extra MP saved, you can invest more in coring/dip-annexing, right?
