Getting back to the game, every CAS figher bomber is too fast, not because of their paper stats, but simple practical reasons. Anyone belives a plane flying 500-600 km/h in ww2 could pinpoint and hit a camouflaged AT gun from a shallow dive...anyone ? Aircraft speeds are here only for balance, same as the 1000-1200 max tank gun range, or even more obvious arty unit ranges not going above 3000 meters...

And i though Tiger fanboys are batshit crazy...
I'm actually not a spitfire fanboy. To be honest I hate spitfires but it takes an incredibly biased person to say the mk 14 spitfire is not the best plane of ww2. The plane. Its a plane that combines the speed of the 72" mustang with the climb and turn of the mk9 spitfire.

The speed at 25lbs

Keep in mind this climb state is at the lowest setting of 18lbs while it's highest setting was 25lbs. If you really think there was a plane that could match this then I'd like to hear it.

yeah but some german divisions like the airbornes would have some trouble with out airsupport or really low airsupport. But I think you are right they should have made them a bit more historical and different from the allies.

I would just give every German deck access to high vet aircraft in single cards. Every deck getting like 3 slots and every plane available. This would make some stuff like the base JU-87 and base Duck pretty useless, but they were then anyway. Altough I can see a place for a 2 star base duck strafing the piss out of light vehicles.

Germans should've been given cheaper and more available AAA with more slots too.

Basically give them high-vet suicide planes and a great ability to try and defend against Allied air attacks.

The current ability for German decks to send up lots of planes is very droll. May favorite is still 12th SS with 6 rocket 109's. GG AT guns.

way to grab one point and be willfully ignorant of the rest.

the Bf109 live (and die) on its high power to weight ratio and light weight, but its engine, while light and small, wasn't that powerful. The engine on the bf109 g-6 s probably the least powerful of all the non-recon aircraft presented in the game, but at the same time the bf109 is also the lightest of all the non-recon aircraft in the game.

and for the record, I don't consider the spitfire mk 9 and mustang to be good ground attack either.

modern jet is different since modern jet engine are significantly more powerful than ww2 piston engine. The advancement in aircraft munition since ww2 is also more about precision and guidance than raw destructive power, and munition weight has essentially gotten heavier to suit the more powerful engine

Pietrucha is in charge of a current major USAF research project into attack aircraft. Check out paragraphs 5 and 6. He addresses this point of contention pretty directly.

When they add USSR we will have la series which is the best so you wont have to worry.

No La-7s as they did not enter service until September '44, after the timeframe of Normandy and Bagration. Without the La-7 there is no way the USSR can lay claim to having the best fighter in the game's timeframe. So Soviet Airforce in Steel Division will have La-5FNs, Yak-3s, Yak-9s, and P-39s. None of those match the speed of Tempests, Mustangs, or Thunderbolts. They'd all be slower aircraft, around the 109 and 190s in speed (in-game).
