I got an Ikko-Ikki in my game and it appeared without warning and message informing it. It was like 12k man from out of nowere. What is involved with this?

Did it spawn in one of your provinces? If so, are you sure you didn't receive an event? Because Ikko-ikki rebels will only spawn by an event.

I noticed there was a hostile siege and found it strange, as I had anihilated all Otomo's troops I was fighting. I hovered my cursor over it and the tooltip showed Ashikaga. Then I saw they were just standing there and that the siege was going by ikko-ikki. I was Shoni, by the way.

No clan is supposed to be able to have troops in the same province without fighting them, and if the Ikko-ikki occured in your province you must have gotten an event, that is the only way they are supposed to spawn. You don't happen to have a save game where this is still going on?

I do. I´ll post a link here. When you hover the mouse on the sprite, it shows ikko-ikki on the botton of screen, but when you put the mouse on the little banner below the sprite, it says Ashikaga right below it.

Edit: If you help me with a good file sharing service...

For some reason, i can't upload anyware. I'll try later but it seems I'm having some kind of trouble with messages. Some with high and low priority are not showing, like children born and buildings completed.

I had the same once; Ikko-ikki engaged (spawned on top of...?) my army without any notification. They were quickly dispatched and I haven't thought of it since.

Maybe, but I don't think it's the case. I even reseted messages to default and I'm not getting, f.e., msgs when children are born and buildings completed. Before I was thinking I was missing some of the answers from marriage proposals, but now i think there's something wrong with the notifications.

Speaking of Ikko-Ikki - aren't they kind of pointless? They never try to expand and take other lands, they just sit there with a large army. Quite easy to ignore them.

If the Ikko-ikki conquer a province there's a chance of them turning it into a stronghold. If they do they will look to expand until they kontrol the whole kuni.

The Ikko Ikki are quite a force in my game. They have 40k troops spread over two provinces in the middle of Honshu and another 20k in a thrid province in the west. However they are just sitting there doing nothing. They have fully built castles in all the provinces and are going to be hell to dislodge but it would be more impressive if they tried to expand. Especailly as the clans around them are very weak as I am eating their armies.

I think they should always try to conquer the kuni they are in not only have a chance of doing it.

2ndly the RR increase is tiny. 3% in neighbouring provinces. And the revolt will only be 1,250 religious rebels, that's not likely to go far. I think the RR needs to be buffed as does the size of the rebellion. say 10% RR and 12,500 Ikko Ikki rebels. That would give the clans an incentive to conquer it back.

Well I didn't want the Ikko-ikkis be become a main objective in the game that would eat up whatever small clan they ended up next to. That's why only the Ikko-ikki strongholds expand in their kuni, and not every Ikki-ikki rising lead to a stronghold.

How about they always have to have at least one stronghold? So the first rising will be a stronghold and try to expand. If there is a 2nd one it won't necesarrily be a stronghold, but if the first one is crushed it will go aggresive. Atm they have two massive armies that are just sitting there, and should be taking attrition... Does the ai take attrition?

Captain Gars, I have this problem with Ikko Ikki:

They had settled down in one of my kuni and they have 23k plus infantry. I raised all the levies in my clan (about 30 to 40k ashigaru and samurai cavalry) and i was defeated with 4000 Ikko Ikki dead and 32000 Ashigaru and Samurai dead on my end. I think the odds are quite crazy here. Unless they are superhumans, have exceptionally good terrain, have firearms (which they don't) and a really great commander, the numbers just didn't make sense.

Not satisfied, i raised my clan-wide levy again, managed to amass 30,000 men but before i can get there, the Ikko Ikki miraculously have 23k men again.

There's a few problems:
1) The respawn rate is simply too fast. They will always have 23k men no matter how many times i re-raise levy, attack and repeat again. The game makes it impossible to remove them from that province even if i have 100k men.
2) The province they are in cannot possibly support that many men. Its unrealistic and counter-immersive. This is a game killer for me.
3) My commander has a higher martial rating, much more men, have samurai cavalry. The other side has a river crossing and a lower martial rating and has an army that comprises of only infantry.

Please help, thanks.
