Currently playing IGC with only one playable nation (Sweden) - great feeling for a Swede to annex Russia... - I only seem to get the Stats for my own country in the library. Is there a reason for this? Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

Question - if I turn 'major' off or on for a nation (during a game), does that mean I will see historical progression for them, even in the time they were 'off'?

Or should I just play them as majors, till that time I am ready to take them, and then at the last moment remove the 'major' tag?

Well, let me rephrase, then. Say I'm playing a perfectly ordinary game (yeah right, as if that ever happens). Say some neighbour, never previously doing ok, gets a super-smart line of AI actions, and grabs a few provinces, makes a nice alliance, and all of a sudden is a major player.

Now, I am interested in his development, certainly from this point on, but also in the past.

I turn him into a 'major' in the savegame. What can I see? Everything? (Does that mean the entire VP history for all nations is stored?)

Inquiring mind wants to know.

No, you see nothing.

I tried once to see stuff. It worked fine, but it was too much work. My interest was once Holland has revolted, I would like to see their tech levels, money, etc.

There are several places in the save file that contain the saved information for each major (at the end of the file). I replicated one country's information at each place, change the tag to HOL, and then patched in zero values up until the year I thought of the idea. From then on in, HOL was in the ledger. I screwed up VP's though. All in all, too much work.
