If your AAR was a nation...

Which one would it be? Not the actual country the AAR is concerned with, but which country would be represent your AAR, through its power, determination, skills of writing (you might think of yours as a Super Power in the AAR world), or maybe you might be the Britain of AARs, you've had your ups and downs over the years but is sitting just nice now, or maybe the Luxumbourg of AARs, nobody knows where you are or what you do, but you ahve a strong heart. Any thoughts?

Sir Humphrey, you start more threads than, well, than something. But getting to your question...

I feel that my Austria AAR is rather a bit like Canada. It's got some really nice places with long empty stretches in between. It's populated by nice people and, as a HOI 1 game, is next to and overshadowed by its larger and better known neighbor. HOI 2 is the America to my Canada, if you will.

My Russia AAR is sort of like Italy, just cruising along and not quite sure what it's doing but having a good time all the same.

ps And there's nothing wrong with insane rants. I find them quite enjoyable every once and a while.

It's what the title of my AAR say: Third Empire, which is Dritten Reich in German. Of course, Napoleon's third empire is not remotely as evil as nazi Germany was, but there are intentional similarities.

Knights of the Western Empire is the Vatican: Starry eyed youths turn their back to riches and privilege to serve the Rightful Monarch in his Holy Quest.

My AARs would be (former) Yugoslavia. More or less forcefully created, nothing coherent about them, break into bits of which some are nicer than the others. Oh yes, lot of fighting, too.

My Canada AAR is like the UK. It's had its ups and downs, including a rapid rise in the beginning, and has kind of trailed off by now.

My Japan AAR is like Russia: Slow to get moving, and with infrequent yet important events, but overall a triumphant nation.

Most of mine are like the Republic of West Florida: Not that well-known, quite short-lived, and rather weak.

The ones which actually survive are like the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: Very slow, but large and notable.

First UK Co operative AAR is like the EU. Each contributor is powerful in their own right but put us together and it just becomes one big mess.......

I'd say my two AARs have been like the League of Nations. A good idea to start with, ineffectual in the long run, and a spectacular failure in the end.
