In the United States its something like 70 years. Longer than some countries, but not by much. They'd rather have the estates of famous people squandered by their lawyers' heirs for decades.I would of thought with any copyright in relation to pictures, that they would enter into public domain after so long. correct me if im wrong though...
Google Images is a web search. You would have to look at the license of individual pictures, and even then they might be used on that site without permission. Of course, its usually unlikely that copyright will be enforced over images on a message board. But if someone gets wind of their material being used in a commercial endeavor, they're usually not happy (or they will be happy they get to use their copyright.)i just get them off google, you know, or wikipedia or something, just prove it's right, and i don't think there's copyright in google images, people use them all the time
Of course, I don't think many people would care that you used their picture of Abe Iso or Khorloogiin Choibalsan
